scoot shop wif best workmanship ??

hi..new to gilera..gg for my 1st full servicing for my st 200. i wen to survey the prices ard and gt diff quotation every where..

future scootering - $160

sunrise - $160

tai hin - $220

botak - $280

 

my question is..which of the bikeshops can be trusted? cuz i've read in the forum tt sum guys claim tt sunrise didnt give them the original malossi kelvar belt( fake ) n he didnt notice until jis next full service.. or tt sunrise didnt do a proper job.. so far haven come across anything abt tai hin or botak. bt i noe botak workmanship is solid bt $280 is way out compared to the other 3 shops. hope u fellow gilarian could help me out.. scared shop gt bad reputation on workmanship den my bike frm 0 problems becomes many problems! many thx in advance

bro, u missed out kallang cycle which is also a specialist in scooters and if i not wrong his pricing is also one of the better one around.

 

perhaps u can tell us know more....Prices as above is inclusive of what stuff?

 

For other bikeshops, i unable to advise but for Botak wise below are my comments.

 

1. He only uses orginal piaggio stuff(belt,roller,u-shoe etc)

2. he don't purchase spare parts in bulk, that's why unable to give competitive prices....

3. workmanship wise, so far as of what i know, he is the only one to full dismantle the clutch to svc....

Can i add on? He is a honest chap because he don't anyhow change ur parts...unless it is really really faulty.... ... My bike has been serviced by him nearly a year so far no problem.... The disadvatage part is he works alone.. so a bit delay when there are many bikes to be serviced at his back alley lane.

hi bro;

if ones know the parts or components of the service bundle, why not purchase them @Rowell Road. He (Botak) is more than happy to replace them with a token of the cost in this mode. At the end of the day, it is a win win situation.

The last service, I got him to strip the brake hose of my SL250 and ask supplier to pick up from him. He paid on my behalf when delivered and i will take the tab. Nice arrangement with this nice chap.

 

don't worry about procuring the wrong parts, those guys has the brochure & yourself to validate.

Bro. u missed out mach speed at eunos. u can call ah boon at 91872836. i done my full service and almost every other thing there. would say good cause the mech will slowly do for you until you happy. tell him u know him via sbf so he may be able to give u discount.

Since u have already experienced some of the service from the places you have been to, the shop that least people mention indicates that there is some unhappy issue or like you, felt cornered to buying other mods other than regular servicing.

Actually most shops do that, its a form of sales, but mostly will just tell you that there is such a parts for enhancement and won't keep hard selling you stuffs.

They have to survive somehow too haha.
