hey ticks was thinking of getting a trax box. you said earlier that it affects the handling. how much? :p is it worth putting the box?

hey man...in terms on handling...depends whether or not u actually put things in it WHILE YOU'RE RIDING..like me somtimes i put toughbook inside due to work..plus H&B box has some weight in itself, its a rather heavy combo while riding. You wont feel much while riding straight line (unless you do wheelies:cool:) , but come to a corner and youll know all about it. to me, try a taking a corner slower than you would normally, and then see how the bike will react. for me, the bike leaned faster and more scarier...cos i wasnt expecting it to just "drop" to the side...so that's to take note of la..take it easy on the first day of riding.

besides that, squeezing thru traffic feels a whole lot different now..due to the weight that i carry, i squeeze thru gridlock much slower now..a picanto put a signature on my box jsut this week cos i kinda forgotten that the box would hit the side mirror..duh...

is it worth it?

1.) price. Are u comfortable to fork out 600 bucks (box and rack) just for a box? live within your means they say. but for me, i think long term, this box will be one that i will use for long evenfor the next bike(s) that i'll have..so divide by the number of years, it should be worth it..(or maybe im just saying that to answer to my wallet's big hole)

2.) Practicality. Do u actually need it? if you dont fancy the idea of a backpack while u ride then i guess box is the way to go then...

3.) looks. Personally, i prefer not to ahve a box on a sumo..but then, due to (2) i need it..used Givi for awhile as u'd know, but didn't like it lar...plus having seen some SW and H&B, kinda nice on the SM..so yea...

Having said that, to one extreme, i'd say that if you have a heavy box filled with stuff while you're riding, it's like riding an S4...yea i know it sounds sad..but if its just the box that you use to store things when you park, i wont affect the handling that bad that you feel like you're on a totally diferent bike while riding...

So for me, i remove my box when i dont need to carry that stupid laptop back....

my 2cents..others will come in...

I guess welding em back 2gather might be the only way to hold em up.

Anyway, anyone know where i can get bike cover to cover drz with box?

Work place moved now no more shelter parking...

Almost any XXL or bigger cover will do the job. I have a very very old cover (from LAB) with a strap that go under the bike. Does help prevent wind from blowing the cover away. Other than that, strings or padlocks on the wheel to prevent them from lift up.

Photo sent. But the cover not fully water proof. Hehe

Thanks bros, drop by lab just now to grab one. Tested the size, bug enuff to cover the wheels. For 15 buck i doubt its gonna be fully waterproof. Lets see tmr :)

Ticks: I also hav the rubber thing ard the opening. But only a little bit of water goes in I guess. Shall monitor again.

Ahys: been a while not seen u here haha.

Blesser: I got my trax for 580 with a universal rack. Initially I tot hnb would cost me 700+ at least and thnb seems wide for a drz for most of the models thus I decide for trax but if given a chance I will choose hnb. And yes. To me I made a right investment cos can put my raincoat and things. V practical. And with now that I also hav Pillion makes it more convenient. If u really wanna buy trax box. U might wanna consider wat rack to use. Cos sw motech hav a rack specially for. drz. Shd cost ard 170 with shipping. Calculate 170+500 for sw motech. U might wanna consider getting a Hepco. Gobi series looks gd on see too

You bet your ass it won't. Haha. But at least the bike is shielded from direct rain.

I put a layer of sponge under.. Lol. Top haven't put yet. But the inside of the hb box of mine is crap anyway. Can't believe the Germans produced it such lousily on the inside. Maybe cos mine is big enough. So I don't force the lid down to lock the box.

Oh. I mean those things that u put inside but din touch the top. So when ure riding the thing wil bounce and hit the top

Wa if bounce and hit the top can hit until dent must be super powerful d man. Or the Alu isn't thick enough.

Definitely. Try putting the other way round. If you force the lid on the help sure dent ma. But if helmet below rain coat on top u slam hard also just rein cost depress. Not the lid dent ma.

Tick tick might be valve clearance not done, or done wrongly. I'm going to check mine tomorrow at raptors. Getting very annoying.

hey guys was wondering. those alu boxes, which is a cheaper but good brand to get? any idea where to get too?

No cheap and good bro. Rule of thumb is Good thing don't come cheap. Cheap thing don't come good. Alu boxes meaning you're looking at H&B and SW Motech. Both in the regions of 600-700 brand new for box and rack. One guys selling his black h&B used on the garage sales.

One of the reasons I consider trax was that it won't look to wide on my zee. And it's black. Hnb alu series doesn't really fit my criteria. Hnb xplorer kinda wide haha. Thus I choose trax. But I know v well my next top case will definitely b hnb if I change my bike. Haha.

All theses boxes range abt 600>. Hope this helps to narrow ur consideration..

My mind tells me it's the cams. Think the cams were letting out too much gas that the 3 yo exhaust can't cope with silencer in. Lol. Point to consider for those going to cams on a st legal bike.

Ride safe people!!

Me and my 2 friends also using the old delta fs and hotcams on our zee, but so far didn't give any problem at all. And I've heard a few guys using delta endcan without hotcams having the same problem like yours. So I guess it got nothing to do with the hotcams.

I just riding normal, but quite high on mileage. I mean hopefully my delta won't give me problem, or I'll just change to other FS like u do. :)
