I find it very hard to believe TS can miss court letters and ignore fines. Unbelievable how lightly some of us treat such things.

A small charge of $400 can balloon into such a mess. And 65c coupons can result in thousands of dollars of fines, not to mention time lost.

Procrastination at it's best.

After a year of unpaid road tax, ur bike would be under wanted list by LTA. They will tow back the bike if they find it, irregardless if u owe the shop any money or not.

Ur license would not be affected due to unpaid roadtax, unless u are caught riding while no road tax is in force.

I beg to differ on this. If the road tax remains unpaid and TS ignored reminders and court dates, LTA may apply for his license to be suspended until he appears in court.

this is how bike shop earn money. they nv think of your difficulties

That is why vehicle ownership is not to be taken lightly. Always do the maths meticulously and make sure that you have extra money for exigencies. That way, you won't put yourself in a compromising position with the shops in case of hard times.

In this case, TS clearly is not ready for vehicle ownership.

True.. Many a times, people dive in thinking they can pay the installment when it happens.. Instalments, merely using tomorows money for today. Jus loke credit cards

The bike shop wants to charge you $3000 for the pistons, and $400 for the dismantling of the engine. And a later $4000 for the so called 'storage fees'. Nice. A bike shop that services MotoGP bikes, perhaps?

If you can, borrow money to get your engine repaired. The lay it up and sell it. If you are able to fetch a reasonable price for your spec 1, it should leave you with enough money to go back to the bike shop and negotiate with them over the 'storage fees'.

Although negotiate isn't exactly what I'd do if I came across such a bike shop.
