Hi Guys,

My apology for being off topic here but can't help seeking query regarding the power booster that some of you have had installed. The number of power booster is based on the number of piston one engine have?

Thanks and regards.

Can see some of ur losing sparks.

I believe it's quite true u can sandpaper the spark plug cause it removes the carbon that was build up over time.

However should not overdo it as after u sand off too much, the gap will eventually become bigger and performance will deteoriate and it should be properly cleaned before it's been put back in place.

Also the spark plugs heads might drop off due to poor quality. Can't blame mechanic as it could be defective one in a batch.

Hope I provided some extra info for ur.

what spark plug were you using, how many months old is it? how much did u sand away? sparkplug die!!?? that sound sreally really serious.. i hope its sandpaper-ing the plug was not the cause.. (i read about ppl doing this.. when plug got carbonized)

if it was.. then im sorry man... seems maybe this method is not so safe.. *guess that why i have my 5 months used spark plug in my tool box.. just incase...

yes i think its the number of cylinder you have. u're riding a shadow i think it should be 2 cylinder just like the varadero. i could be wrong though cos the booster is connected to the spark plug wiring providing a more efficent spark to the spark plugs so it could be the number of spark plugs u have. i belive some v-twin engine are using 2 spark plugs for each cylinder block.

Thanks for the info simone. My v-twin is using 2 sparkplugs per block so I guess it will mean 4 boosters? Will there be any side effect if I'm only going to install 2 boosters?

Many thanks.

you want mine i got mine removed by the mech. I guess if the booster wears out so will the power to ya spark plugs. if u want u can have mine to test but for a 400cc i dont think ya need one. i belive the booster has an extra grounding cable to give u more stable current flow.

U might wanna try the volt stabliser.

btw u were riding a dealim daystar and u got modded it up getting pretty good fuel efficency from it care to share with us what mods did?

You mean to say the booster will actually wear out one fine day? I actually tested a US power booster from vector one, not sure if it is the same one but it sure doesn't workout fine for me on the fifth gear at high rpm but other than that, the pick up and throttle response was tremendous. What I gather from super bike centre regarding the power booster was in a matchbox size which is slightly different thus I have the urge to try it out when I read about the pickup and top end different you guys had.

Volt stabliser seem to be an interesting product but is it available locally yet?

Regarding my ex-Daystar fuel consumption, other than tuning for less fuel ratio by my mech, I did a swap for a smaller rear sprocket to reduce the rpm without losing my top end. Broquet was added which however I felt may not have resulted a better fuel consumption. Did some drilling on the stock air filter for better air flow and some modification on the twin exhaust to assist in a better flow of air. A change of sparkplug cable to produce better spark and last but not least a strict usage on full-syn enigne oil.

Hope the above info helps.

Whats Up DawGZ!!

Brothers...the theory of the camel riding effect never ending...becoz i got one more!...eheheheh...i was talking to my workplace colleagues about my bike...my senior colleague...told me that...it could be 3 things why our bikes have this effect....

1. spark plug....enuff said about that...

2. fuel line.....our fuel line could be plugged....and he said...our fuel line should have a strainer or petrol filter...which i doubt our bikes have it....change the strainer or petrol filter....

3. could be your petrol....high in sulphur content....which means...when you top a certain type of petrol....it will stressing your bike...you can feel the difference...it is obvious....

juz want to share only...ehehheh...dun worry...i will be sending my bike soon for servicing....after servicing...i will inform you guyz...what cause the camel riding effect....

I got my Hella FF200 for $90 (Two lamps with relay, switch, wires...etc) at :

Mistan Auto Accessories Centre Pte Ltd

Address : 16 Veerasamy Rd (opposite NPC, few shops down the road)

Singapore 207324

Telephone : 6293 4226

Fax : 6292 2612

I don't think FF100 (not sure if there is FF110), cost twice as much as FF200.

It's a weird shop, you can only browse from entrance the shop, but they carry the best range of Hella products.

Whats Up DaWgZ!!

THAILAND --- Land Of Lights!

Good question!...first thing first...me very sorry coz bz with work...so got little time to think about it...but i have to start get the ball rolling...so that we dun lose momentum......well...the organizers agreed to collect fund by June...but...we still have not open to the rest of the brothers...except those who went for the Kukup trip...but there wasnt any follow up by the brothers....nothing is concrete...and who want to be in-charge of fund...nobody...who is on the list...no confirm participants yet...so..we need to have a meeting again...to come up with concrete plan and assigned tasks....how about 10 July?...Friday nite...we can make it meet up session for all the brothers.....

To all the brothers...I believe some of you might be thinking what happen to the Thailand trip...i can assure you guyz...the organizers will be putting out the plan soon...dun worry....

The organizers

1. Daniyal

2. Dakar

3. Abattory

4. Yem_paul

5. Newtsuit

6. Syed

7. Aikon

8. AL-simmons

By the way...I seek the other organizers co-operation...to work together...dun wait for someone to start...lets keep reminding each other about the Thailand Trip...i do not want...at the end of day...if things not done...there will be pin pointing of fingers...not nice...so lets get it started!...

Juz for your infomation...our current bike insurance...will cover us up to 80.5km from the Thai / Malaysia border...i dun know whether Hat Yai is included in the 80.5km...I was told that..we can buy insurance in Singapore for us to travel up to Thailand...BUT...it only cover the rider not bike....went to STA juz now...

Well...I hope that my reply will answer all those doubts of other brothers...I hope this reply did not get to my brothers in a negative tone...If there are querries...plz do pm me or call me....ok?...:thumb:
