Help desperately needed......

Hehe anyone can teach me how to remove fairing? Im tryin to install my SW Motech crash bar....

I have finished installing the main stand and boy, was it hard to pull the double springs... :giddy:

Please please pretty please???? :)

WAI - have u tried ur CTEK 800 yet?

Posted

patricc > Yup, had tried out 1st time two days ago. I would say that it is a very straight forward gadet. Plug and charge. No hassle except for opening up the rear side fairing wher the battery is. As for the performance, I cant really comment cos when I charge, my battery was almost full. but I leave it on the battery for a couple of hours. In between that, could see the ticle charge. I would recommend the gadget to anyone who has a weak batt.

Vara bros > One question that I always wanted to ask regarding our fuel tank:-

Our bike has....

a) 17.5 litres + 2litres (reserve) = 19.5 litres (main tank + reserve)

b) 15.5 litres + 2 litres (reserve = 17.5 litres (main tank + reserve)

c) 17 litres + 2.5 litres (reserve) = 19.5 litres (main tank + reserve)

d) 15 litres + 2.5 litres (reserve) = 17.5 litres (main tank + reserve)

My guess is B is that correct?

Wai > what's this gadget you guys talking about? Coz as you know, I just had another episode of "flat bat", so I'm thinking of every possible means to avoid that situation again, hahaha...... Was told that fixing a voltmeter is of no use..... :(

Maybe you might wanna comment on

1) the gadget you're talking about with patricc.

2) is the voltmeter really redundant?

3) how's the new headlights (CTEK800)? :)

And just a little digression, I was thinking of getting an "Outrider" sticker (one that looks like in rudinko's pic) so any Vara bros out there to advise? :)

hammy_bike Hehe, bro, the Ctek800 that Ive bought is a battery charger. (Bought it just for your bike!!!! KIDDING)

I dun think voltmeter is redundant at all. At the very least, it tells the voltage and when it gets low, you know something is not rite . I would think that its very useful if not no one would buy. But of cos, its a 'good to have thing' rather than 'must have thing' if you service/ride your bike regularly.

Personally, if you ask me if you should buy, I would sure say, 'just buy, brother'

Rudinko - Basically it is a battery charger. It's sold by Lim Battery or Limbat for short. Check out the thread here.

There is no need to install but you would have to remove the batt from the bike and charge at home or u can attach the wires onto the batt and charge it at any convenient outlet :)

or http://www.ctek.com

If I am not wrong, you can pay them by internet banking and they will send it by post. It cost $65 at their MSRP.

WAI - how much did u get it for? anyway, u know the price for XS3600?

congrats, for single handedly fixing up the mainstand. IMO, it would be better you not remove the side fairings just to install the crash bar. removing the radiator guard is enough to get the job done. be gentle with the plastic fastener securing it though. good luck again.

I won't recommened taking out the fairing... Just tried taking out. Really a b**ch. Wiring all over the place and if i were to take out, not sure what to do with the headlamps and signal lights.

Has anyone here modded their speedometers??

Sorry for my ignorance but what is a scottoiler and what are its functions?

rudinko > Thank you. Will ask Al-Simmons about it.

Al-Simmons > Do you have any more of those stickers? Was thinking of covvering the Repsol sticked on my fuel tank (was sticked there by previous owner to cover scratch mark)...

WAI > I'm really so touched....hee hee... so when you free to come out for coffee? Its weird coz we're living so close to each other but yet its so hard for us to meet up........... :p
