Hi all Vara bros,

Do you have any recommendations for modifications to be done to my vara?

I want to change the followings:

1) A bigger pair of mirrors?

2) Add Hazard light

3) Change my horn to those very loud horn used by lorries.

4) What is the biggest box that can be installed on a bike? I want to install a big box

As I'm new to this bike, I like to seek advise from all what other modifications I can do to improve the performance of the bike and have an enjoyable experience riding it.

1)Can look up either at Ah boy place. For me using the Napolean brand(Almost the same size as that of the side mirror of a small car).

2)Could be done on any motorbikes shop.

3)My advised is to changed to an electric horn..Air horn is illegal.

4)Givi Maxia is around 52 litre.

Bro just use a superior grade engine oil for your bike(Maxima Brand maybe??) and a good spark plugs would certainly improve the performance of your bike. And plus maintaining your chain(Waxs or Lubes regularly).

Duke - E rectangular one I got sticks out too much by the side unless I use it jus beside e undercowl.... guess its no choice hehe.... unless I got wat Beb has which is circular....

Bounce - Eh U can try gettin ur own switch n bring to First Motors. $25 for doing e lites but mus buy at least 3 or 4 contact point switch... for less troublesome operation. I got a 2 point switch so I got to on my side as well as my hazard to turn on both... If u can get ur own 4 way condenser, KnT might b able to do it cheaper... Talk to Clifford or Ah Wei...

Beb - Wat did u use to clamp e lites on ur crashbar.... can meet u up to have a look? hehe

Hi Beb,

thanks for your advice. I will make a trip to Ah boy tomorrow to buy raincoat, gloves and check out those big side mirrors.

What is the difference between my current horn and the electric horn?

May I know which workshops all Vara bros frequent most to do maintenance and service the bikes?

Hi Beb and all Vara bros,

I be going to Ah boy tomorrow after work to look for raincoat, gloves and side mirrors.

What is the difference between my current horn & electric horn?

What sort of wax or lubricants u use for your bikes?

Posted

to give an analogy, stock horn is like a cat's meow, electric horn is like a lion's roar, and an air horn.....is like a t-rex's roar.. :cheeky:

wax and lubricants, if you're talking about the chains, from what i know, most bros here using scottoiler.. if you have the money, i'd say its a very worthy investment. if not, doing the dirty deed yourself would be fine.. i use castrol or maxima chain wax and they do the job.. cleaning with kerosene seems to work the best so far..

goldstar>> imo, the bike should be able to take your weight.. i'm quite big-sized too.. but if you're talking about riding with pillion, i guess it will depend on how heavy your pillion is.. how it affects overall performance i am not too sure, but your fc would definitely be affected..

YO bro, i am heavy between 94-98kg plus my side boxes and topcase fully armour and full pack vara can still go.... the roads the limit.... no worries abt it and futhermore if you look at the previous post abt a few days ago there is a frend of ours bring home a microwave and with him i think its quite an achievement...

most of the varas that i know of went to K&T its at ubi... but as for me i have 3 workshop 1) Bukit batok 2)K&T 3)first motor basically for fabrications other then that i dont go to other workshops... generally it would depends on the individuals on the preference of the workmanship and quality..

the microwave guy was me. haha. it was actualli a huge oven but yea. aniway the bike should b able to carry yr weight, do note tht the vara125 the lower-end rev not much power. i usually rev above 6-7k onwards b4 u can feel the "pull". the bike's heavy n engine small, e onli compensation is tht it's a v-twin. but also means petrol consumption more than yr usual 2b 125cc's. but it's a really great bike is large storage capabilities!

patricc:hey man, tht looks like a very rewarding trip . i nv had a rd trip up north on my bike b4, almost went up north on my m400 last time but yea, sold it b4 i could do so... once i'm ready i'll join u guys up north too ! need to get e necessary accessories first. BTW if u wanna get e round hellas like BEB's count me in? coz i also wanna get....
