I'm new to riding, just started to take my license at the good ol age of 26. Needed a cheap way to get to work man...

Anyway, I don't really know how to go about getting a bike(I wanna get a second hand Varadero 125), and what will the installments be like, how much down do I have to pay? Can anyone pls advise the breakdown and stuff?

Thanks alot!!

need ur help guys..

my bike pick up is very slow, the main reason is that the rpm would stay in the 2-3 region for a few seconds then suddenly shoots up to 4-5...i tried open the throttle abit more but no difference..as a result i always get honked by cars behind me:(

now everytime before moving off from traffic light,i would open the throttle first till the rpm reach 4 then i would be able to move off smoothly..

also due to this my bike sometimes stall on the slope bcoz shortage of power...

anyone facing this problem before or would know what is the problem..?

would really appreaciate it..:)

yikes...i had the very same experience...back then when i first got my toyboy...was close to tears, even thought of parking the bike on the kerb and walk home...being a newbie and at the same time honked by cars left and right was a very disasturous experience..

what i did was , i send my bike to this uncle...im not sure what he did to the bike...some adjustment was made here and there...i think to the setting of the clutch..if im not wrong...and maybe adjust ur idling speed too??one thing im sure he did...was to cut off my air filter ( which is a very different issue) ... the only way to counter such problem at the moment... is to rev many many before moving off....

I had this same problem when i first got the bike. Cannot leave basement carpark cos of slope.

Once u have the budget, do the following:-

1) inspect the air filter, if like sh*t, change new (i think $100+, can ask Nineh pls)

2) go for carb wash and carb tuning ($85 at Bikeworkz)

3) Tune your idling speed to 1.5 - 1.8k rpm

OK, if got EXTRA budget, add on the following:-

4) change EO to MAxima Ultra ($22-24/-)

5) CHange spark plugs

6) Use FP60 fuel additive + LC20 EO additive ($30++)

After 1 to 3 above, i think your bike can take on Bay's bike 100m dash....

After 1 to 6 above, next time go for trips, u will kena speeding ticket like Datok (Vince) for speeding @ 160kph or wait for the rest at next R&R like Rudinko. :thumb:

I had 3) Tune your idling speed to 1.5 - 1.8k rpm

bro, no offence.. but is 1.5k to 1.8k rpm a bit too high..

one thing about the vara is about getting used to it.. just need to rev more before moving off.. and one more thing, dont look at the RPM.. feel the bike.. after a few days of doing it, u can somehow estimate the sound of the engine and associate it with the finger releasing the clutch lever.

one more thing, check whether u got water into ur fuel tank that caused the misfiring of the sparkplugs... because of that it might cause the sudden high rev despite the constant revving..
