Hey guys, anyone wanna get mesh jeacket? I'm thinking of going down to Motorworld @ Lavender to chk out the Komine Jackets this Friday or Thursday (maybe during my lunch time, which is arnd 2pm).

hello guys,

 

time to break the news... the cameron trip did not happen. :weep:

one of the riders had an accident on fri nite after dinner. as such, the other 2 decided to cancel the trip.

 

Scenario

South Bouna Vista road 15=20km/h sharp left turn rear tire contacted disel/petrol tire/bike slipped away skidded a few meters.

 

Damage

upper body ok - due to riding jacket. elbow are of the jacket torn.

Both rider and pillion wearing shorts.:slapforehead:

 

Rider's shin area (knee to jus above ankle) skin scraped off. no need to go waxing anymore. minor abrasion on stomach area also. Pillion suffered abrasion on left knee cap and impact of the bike's weight on left ankle. Ankle swollen cannot put pressure for now using crutches.

 

noting broken. nothing dead. all good. :o

 

bike still parked at NUH. Waiting for subrider to retrieve it. first check all seems alright expect broken bashplate bracket. will have to do a proper check again.

 

Why the accidnet happened?

cos rider F++King dumb enuff not to notice the trail of diesel on the road.

 

Why things are not tat bad?

the van infront limited riding speed to 15-20km/h with no chance to overtake. no van = prob faster riding spd = worst injuries.

 

oh well, another lesson learnt the hard way... :slapforehead::o

 

time to recover and get back on teh bike asap..

oh...time for some riding pants as well. it will be sometime before shorts and riding go together. :shades:

You are another want of those. All those craps "MWTS", "Price is right", simply show you are not committed.

 

Buying a car for the safety of your loved ones is definitely a right decision, but buying a better bike just for yourself is the best decision. :D.

may i offer some insight into your situation? i understand where kai is coming from in wanting to get a car and i think that if she or the both of you can afford it then go for it? i'm sure you, having owned your own vehicle, are aware that there are running costs to a car as well over the installments, taxes and what-nots..

 

but.. i will say to not make any decisions based on what just happened.. yes riding is dangerous and it's something the people here put up with everyday.. but seeing as you love your bike that much and have so many memories with it and transformed it into the beast it is now.. be not hasty with it.. whether you like it or not.. you have to ride.. even if it is alone.. :)
