Nineh, even with an upcoming baby i wun be buying a car. I think in sg theres no pressing need for it....unless i bring home $4k above then i reconsider. My wife too says theres no urgent need for a car coz of the running costs......at most, borrow bro-in-law car or rent. Ur bike is superb lah, if it was me i wun sell.....keep it as a weekend ride or transport when i dun have to drive anyone around. That saying, im eyeing ur bash plates bro...hahaha. Btw, if u do sell ur bike and buy a car, might i suggest an SUV capable of touring?

i know bro. Tusrt me, I'm the last person who wld advice anyone in SG to get a car. Its an expensive liability! Having said that, like i mentioned earlier... the main reason for buying a car in for the MRS. I will continue to ride. Prob take over my dad's scooter for the time being. Im not ready to risk the MRS safety by her being on the bike for daily transportation. Yes she can take public transport...but knowing us...I'll start ferrying her on the bike in no time! so for her safety i gotta sacrifice abit bro.

The Mrs also doesnt want me to sell the bike actually. But to be frank, I cant afford both right now. That's why this reluctant sale. The only reason to sell the bike is to finance the car.

so yea. tats that.

To all that are interested in my accessories; sorry guys but for teh time being I do not intend to strip any parts of the bike due to my injury. I prefer to sell the bike as a whole. If the buyer doesnt want anything...I'll let u guys know yea.

i myself think so far when an accident happen.. but to think of it.. accident happen everywhere.. its just a matter its ur turn or not.

u walk, people bang u.

u take bus, bus driver corner too fast, the bus tong-balek!

u take bicycle, drunk driver bang u for no reason.

u stay at home, ur neighbour house catches fire.

u stay in hotel, got 2 indon bomb the hotel.

u take MRT, still got people want to bomb..

now u think, i would rather give her an atm card with a monthly credit of 200bucks for her transport if she care so much abt safety. It will still be so much cheaper than owning a car.Lets dont talk about safety la uh.. She neglect safety alot too(since that Labis Trip).

In reality both of us know tat...she will be back on teh bike with me in no time for daily transportation. I dunno if i can accept tat risk le... seeing her on crutches these few days... hai... my heart oso pain.

anyway...see how la... Im oso abit lost at the moment... neither here nor there... getting a CAGE is prob one of the worst mistakes im gonna make man... after tat sure eat grass... monthly expenses are gonna hit the roof and beyond sia.. min $1000+++/mth.

ure just itchy backside. u will regret buying a car.. unless ur min income is more than 2k bring home. if not, u cannot enjoy..

everyone can afford to pay car installments. but to enjoy with it, i dont think so.

Nash, honestly to me this is like a knee jerk reaction......i was involved in an accident with my then-fiancee (now wife) once or twice. On all occassions was my dumbass noob mistake on TA200. On both times i had same thinking as u...lol. Anyways after a few weeks upon practical discussions, convenience and financial situation prevails. Just that more care needs to be practised. Give her and urself sometime before u start pillioning. U prepared to watch $1k fly? Or $1k better kept in bank to prepare for world tour?

Hi bro,

if you really thinking of gg 4 wheels, do consider Demon's idea on goods vehicle. Its really quite cheap and good. Can get a GV/GW plater for $10k +/- with renewed COE 10 yrs. The installment also affordable like 200 or less monthly and in-house financing means easier approval. Just have to check out the interest rate. Can choose from the likes of Renault Kangoo, Opel Combo and VW Caddy. If you're into pickups Isuzu also can get ard same price.

Advantages:-

1. Diesel - cheaper

2. Turbo - as fast / faster than some cars (TDI)

3. Got space at the back, can transport stuff (earn extra cash on weekends), can transform into private enjoyment space (fix up a nice 32inch LCD + sound system with mini-firdge) or even to transport your Dakar bike to participate in Le Marko races etc.

4. Safer than bike - 2 air bags, some models may even have ABS

Disadvantages:-

1. Parking hassle

2. Parking coupon

3. Maintenance issue for 10yo vehicle - may be pricey

4. Smell of diesel sucks and the sound of of idling diesel engine

Alternatively, you may even give a thought to getting a small new car instead, eg. Chery A1 (which looks damn nice and is much better than the QQ), Fiat Uno or Chevy Spark. With a small deposit and 10yr loan, you can expect monthly installment of $300 +/-. There are also several other China brand cars which are really cheap but you will have to do more research on their reliability 1st and go for test drive to ensure you'll be happy with it in long term.

I hope you will keep your beautiful bike, man. Its really a head turner and i think you fit the bike damn well. But at the end of the day its your decision and whatever it is I believe its for the best for you. I hope you get well soon. We should go for another Mustafa nite session lah... this time not too rushed one la...
