I think the throttle cable is quoted w/o installation. w installation it might cost more :( cos i find it diff to diy the throttle cable.

the clutch cable at hwa chin at bukit batok is selling it for 45 must check out fjt to see how much is the clucthc cable.

juz to share...the reason why our throttle cable is quite expensive...coz they are made in such a way like how does a cbx750cc switch and throttling assembly system...

The Clutch cable at FJT for out bike cost $37 and the Throttle cable cost $90 one set....Damn talk about an expensive set of cables.

So Unknown if you're getting the same Throttle cable set for $70 then that is a pretty good deal dude.

Good Morning guyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz................

>>>UNknown...wah the clutch cable so expensive huh..? better change the cable plus the lever..den can use cheaper version...clutch cable $15 @ GHC yishun and clutch lever @ L.A.B $10-$15.....buy the cable first coz the end of the cable which is to the lever is big..the metal ball lah...original is smaller...all only most to most is $30..or can try Vara 1K cable ...

>>>Daniyal as for the Emergency Rescue Plan...i already have the numberss....(all the toll number) ...........when we first discuss about this trip.. hehehe...thanks to Tijan also for giving me additional info on the towing shop number....but i already have plans ...touch wood if anything happen along the Highway..den we will do the BIKE-TO-BIKE towing till the rest point....if we really have to do it lah...............................AS for the ideal STOP POINT.... it is true that all the pre planned stop point that we are stoping will be the one with PETROL STATION....even place for MAKAN...

>>>AS for the number of stops we are gonna make depends on the endurance of the group...one for all and all for one....as for the planned is still 4 stop but still like i say...endurance of the group and the weather also plays a part.... Another thing is we have to bear in mind that the day is FRIDAY...town will be busy before FRIDAY PRAYERS and also AFTER FRIDAY PrayERS...so we have to really estimate the time for stoppage also.....

>>> If we are being stop by the Traffic Police...den the amount will be shared equally...but as far as i am concern..i don't see any reason for them to stop us.. Unless we can BEAT THE SPEED LIMIT LAH.....hahahaha..which is impossible lah.....110km/h....another thing is HEADLIGHT problem...if u guyz wanna save electricity...den just have a look out for the TP too...i was stop a few times in Malaysia for SWITCHING OFF my headlight...hehehehe.....itchy backside......:cheeky: :cheeky: :cheeky:

>>>Newsuit....ok brother..Simone right about the air filter thing....try to empty the overflow tube under the AIR FILTER compartment....it is a transparent tube on the right hand side of ur bike.......den try to re---TUNE the carbeurator..just for AIR and FUEL mixture lah...it should work by then....

The only prob i see is that 2nd hand the interest is much higher compared to

1st hand bike...but in terms of machine price you know...

but ultimately the bike has got to be performing well...no point buying dirt cheap

but in the end it gives you a headache every now and then.

daystar__70 , any idea how much is the extras like crash bar and stuff like that cost..?

And the most impt. question... Do you guys go to like a mechanic that is well versed in this bike that charges ok and does a good job.

Like for my TA200...there is this mech at Depot Rd...he is quite okay

in servicing TA200 bikes. So if i do decide to get this bike...knowing that there is a good and reliable mech around saves you a bit of a headache.

Once again sorry for the long composition again :nono:

Thanks in advance. Cheers!

Peace!!!

Dont worry about accessories........lots of lobangs on the way.....

Crashbar - Biketech21 & M-Technik -.....I am comtemplating next year, new job so no bonus to spend

Undercowl - Bros here are trying to "mould" with sample from one of us; MO shd be on the way......

Top box/side panniers - Chiap Lee for hardcase (GIVI); M-Technik for H&B; LAB for Rjays (SOft Side panniers)

Front windshield - Chiap Lee; Motoworld.

Most other accessories can get from LAB & others. Daniyal knew a mech who used to own Vara125. So we have "backup". As for general services, some of us do our own, some of us swear by our mech...so each to his own.

1. Change Air filter---------------------Is your Air Filter Blocked????????????

2. Change sprockets and chain--------Wash ur chain with deisel & adjust ur chain again...still got lots more room for adjustment...likewise Simones one is already at the end....but urs not....still can adjust....Are ur front & back original ones...give me the actual size....is it 14front & 44rear?????? iF it is "tak seimbang" maybe thats why u have that change of RPM....either lower or higher...

3. Wash and tune up carb--------------Does ur bike dies off and on while travelling or when u pull in ur clutch..?????

I'm changing engine oil---spark plugs----oil filter---adjust chain---tune carbeurator all at Paul.....either on 29/11/04 or 30/11/04.....

Hi guys m quite paranoid about a few things about our trip to KL. We need to iron up some issue before we go.

1. At and even of an accident how who do we contact and where would be the nearest hospital.

2. At then event of a breakdown of our machine who do we call to get it towed

3. If we get caught by the police for whatever infringments how do we settle it.

4. In the event that one of our group members are not feeling well in the middle of the trip or on the return leg.

1. At and even of an accident how who do we contact and where would be the nearest hospital.

There are emergency telephone along NS HW to enable to get help...since most of us can speak melayu; there shd not be any hinderances in communications.

2. At then event of a breakdown of our machine who do we call to get it towed

Refer to above or one rider use his foot to "push" breakdown bike to next point where help can found.

3. If we get caught by the police for whatever infringments how do we settle it.

Please bring small changes (RM5, RM10), so if there is need of to quench thirst of police can offer but let them see only little money. The big chunks keep away. Anyway, now they have new rulings of fine on the spot. So let's just keep to our speed limit (100 - 110 km/hr). I personally dont want to quench thirst of the polis

4. In the event that one of our group members are not feeling well in the middle of the trip or on the return leg.

I will bring along some first aid items for general use; hope i can still remember my training with St John. But because wife come along trip, the only thing i really cannot remember is mouth to mouth resuscitation.

Just for info....actually malaysian TP is having ops this festive season....

this article might interest u all...

RM300 on-the-spot fine to stay

PUTRAJAYA: The RM300 on-the-spot fine has helped to drastically reduce the number of road deaths during the recent Deepavali and Hari Raya festive period and the gahment is now considering imposing it the whole year round.

The fine and tougher measures implemented during Ops Sikap resulted in fewer road fatalities during the recent festive season compared to last year despite a three-fold increase in traffic, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy said yesterday.

The number of deaths dropped from 184 last year to 147 this year.

“In the period between Nov 7 and midnight yesterday (Nov 17), there was an average of 13.3 deaths per day in comparison to the average of 16.7 fatalities per day last year,” he added.

He said the Cabinet had earlier decided to impose the RM300 on-the-spot fine for certain localities and during festive periods.

“However, we will now review it and see if there is a need to extend it,” he told a press conference here.

Apart from the immediate fines for six serious traffic offences, the gahment had banned heavy commercial vehicles from using the highways on certain days and imposed tougher rules on express bus operators, like requiring them to replace drivers after every two hours or 300km of travel.

Chan said the 209 motorists caught breaking traffic rules had been co-operative in paying the fines on the spot.

He also said the gahment had received many reports that some drivers were angered by the move.

“But, obviously, the measure has had a positive effect. We are not here to please them (the angry motorists). We are here to protect and save lives.”

The gahment, he added, was also happy that this year, there were no serious accidents involving express buses.

Chan said the campaign still had another four days to go, until Sunday when most people are expected to return home.

“I am again appealing to all road users to be more careful come this weekend,” he said. Chan added that the ministry was also asking the Public Service Department’s permission to set up Road Safety Department branch offices at the state level.

He said having state branches would enable better coordination of road safety programmes.

“We are hoping to have these branch offices set up by early next year,” he added.

Chan said the newly established Road Safety Department, which is to be headed by Suret Singh as director-general, would have three divisions under it – finance and administration, programme and project implementation and research and development.

"The road less travelled"

Actually our bike according to a friend of mine who used to ride a shadow 125 said the engine is the same.

Also some of the parts used is used on other bikes too.

A uncle where I changed bulb at said same as Vespa's. Been using no problem.

Oil filter same as XR???

Clutch cable same as Vespa.

Maybe there are more parts easily available on other bikes just that we have not discovered. We could be saving lots instead of kena chopped...

We can share this knowledge by asking around for quotations and whether any similar parts from other bikes before making any decisions.

As time goes by, our knowledge on our bike will broaden and can benefit even more.
