Why not just use a blunt nail? The carb float pin should slide out easily. Should not require much effort at all.

Hmm..might give it a try. The tool's cheap and I don't want to risk damaging the pin posts. Every time I try to save on a tool I end up damaging something much more expensive...lol!

visit a well stocked hardware/tool store...like those in kelatan lane..behind coffeeshop (coffee shop opp. LAB).

i am sure they have many to show you..the question is do you have any idea the type and size of the tool you need. if you do then thats not an issue..if not ask the store and they can help to suggest the correct tool..imho.

yeah you are absolutely right..speaking from experience...without the correct tools..

make worse by lack of experience and training..the chances of doing a lousy job and damaging the parts are high.

Hi MiddleAgedBiker,

What you need is - Parallel pin punch.

Google for Yew Aik (S) Pte Ltd, they are at the ground floor of Jalan Besar Plaza.

I bought my Elora parallel pin punch set from them a few years ago, cheap and good :thirsty:

Thanks Phang, great to hear from you. Thanks for the tip, I'm just heading down there tomorrow, will get the punch from them.

How's your Zephyr 750 restoration project coming along? Btw, do you know of anyone in S'pore who does bead blasting?

Phang, where you stay? We should meet up sometime, maybe can help each other in projects or share ideas and stuff or just to talk cock.

Btw, I found my pin punch for cheap at a shop called Wah Lei on Maude Rd, opp the Elora distributor. It was like wonderland, they had a lot of automotive tools, like bearing pullers, piston ring compressors, etc.
