Turn left to where? I know there is a EW mrt line at marymount road. :giddy:

Paiseh :giddy: blur blur

marymount is near bishan, no where near the EW line wor~

after exiting at upper thomson road, these are the road that u will travel along

1: Upper Thomson Road

2: Lorine Road

3: Adam Road

4: Farrer Road

5: Queensway

All of these road are conntected, just like CTE connects to SLE

Following down the road, u would have passed by a lot of junctions. Be prepared to use ur bike to ur advantage and to do lane splitting all the way from Lorine Road to Farrer Road.

After Farrer Road, u will pass by the "Farrer Underpass". This is the only underpass u will travel. U will see a macdonalds on ur left. Once seen, keep left and prepare to turn left to Commonwealth Ave. (this is where you will see the physical EW mrt tracks between Commonwealth MRT and Queenstown MRT.

There are also alternative routes. I have yet to explore them. One of them is after Farrer Road turn left to Holland Road and to orchard area. There should only be one ERP which is after Plaza Sing. The one at Wisma should not be in operation if i'm not wrong.

Still lost, arrange for a morning ride together then

Tyrian,

May I know what is the total mileage clock for the above route? seems like a long journey.

For us living in woodlands, SLE-CTE seems faster. I am planning to use SLE-CTE route and check the total mileage clocked / ERP payment.

making my guest appearance again.

calling for nologicone aka duc expert. It's that time of the year to dream of my dream bike. What do you think about this?

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216391&highlight=ducati+monster

The rest pls do chip in about what you think

*poof* Here I am  Cliff, I feel that right now, if you REALLY want, as in REALLY REALLY want a Ducati Monster, you should consider a new one because the new Ducatis are lesser in maintenance, more reliable, more powerful, and definately more fuel economy. Buying an old Monster from 01 is killing yourself after like 8 yrs of use. Do not ask me how I know....

Verdict, none of the 2 bikes I own now are Italian  Alright, seriously, I was trying to get my hands on a 848, but the deal never fall thru, I got myself a.....08 R1. I still like Ducati, but must wait for the right one to get. Do not get that Monster....get a newer one. You save now, but later the repair bill adds up, can get a new one and better resale value too.

tyrian: not bad ah, nowadays all 4 wheels liao..

dafanshu: u can take bike to wrk, or u can just take train n ride during wkend, im sure if u start ur bike every wkend, it wld be okay..

lollipop: u nv pop by, of cos move slowly la...

eve: u c, suddenly all e old birds flock in again! paging for ryan n hilary.. paging....

You page, I appear lor

really ah? when u sms me i nv reply? if really got paiseh leh.. :cheeky: dun remember tho... usually i will reply de lah..

The last time I try to SMS you was when you....lost your phone :cheeky: POC was SBF, this exact thread.

So how huh? My Singlish still pass boh?

Aiyah, I also miss the days back in Singapore, with all my biker frens....all of you, the fast guys, the slow guys, those with no rides, everyone of you. I do made some cool biker friends, and we ride couple of times a month, always at Starbucks, but never the same like home.

When my brother Charlie and Damien, sister Avril and Sarah B came over last yr, it was so fun to hang out with them....miss them so much, and all of you people too. Knowing that Charlie went for a 2 week trip to Thailand/Myanmar on his Busa with another brother of mine Johnny on his FZ1, it burns inside me that I could not join them. Hope they will come in the next few years and we do a 3 men 2 weeks ride in USA. ON BMWs :thumb:

to my knowledge dry batt life span is like only 1 year but wet batt can last 2-3 years. wet batt need special attention like checking and topping up the batt water every 1-3 months while dry batt is hassle free.

Base my bike manual, bike needs to operate above the idling points for 15 minutes at least once a month. If more than a month, we need to dismount the wiring from the batt.

Eh can anyone correct me on my understanding?

To my knowledge, if you keep the charge good on dry or wet cell, they both last as long as 3 yrs. The only thing is that wet cell you need to check the distilled water level like you said, while the dry cell you do not have to that's why they call it "Maintenance Free battery". Checking the distilled water level on the battery is not special attention, it's call periodic inspection, or else it will not be in Owner's Manual, but the Workshop Manual.

Yes, the bike must operate with load before the alternator will charge the battery, meaning, you must ride it. Just bring the bike out for a kopi session with Eve, it would more than suffice the "15 mins above idle/month" requirement  (Kill 2 birds with 1 stone)

Or else disconnect the battery. But make sure you keep the terminals away from metal contact. You know which point to remove first? Disconnect Neg (Black) then the Positive (Red). When connecting, connect Positive (Red) then Neg (Black). Dun ask me how I know....it's quite a shock (mentally, not physically thus it was quite funny). But the lucky thing was that it's not my bike  and I think I did not get hurt. The latter is not so important.

If you have a garage (which I have now :p), there is such a thing call Battery Tender, which will trickle charge the battery to full, and then lower the charging voltage to just maintain the level, without peaking the battery. Just keep the battery tender connected and plug in to a wall plug, cool huh?

I am getting one soon.

The 08 R1 is a great bike, just kindda curious if the 09 is much much better or not. No matter what, April I'll be tracking the R1 for the 1st time. Very very excited. Need steel braided hose and mirror block off plates, and some race tyres, all good to go.

Hey, wonder if you rode a DRZ-SM before or not.....it is uber fun!

I'll SCREAM when I come back SG, fine? :cheeky:
