got 4 wheel liao, so bike have to downgrade to a easier maintenance bike.

Mine is near but not really near still have to take a shuttle bus over to MRT station.. but its close to OCC and yishun dam.. hehe

now, engine oil leaks from the engine block also. repair cost around 1.5-2k. so i might as well forget abt it and get myself a cheap maintenance bike since i'm a lousy bike owner. :sweat:

 

however, with so much problem, my bike still managed to clock 26.6km/l of FC. that's incredible

it's shared between me and my gf, and occasionally, my dad sponsors some of the cost

 

it's a civic esi. got engine oil "missing" problem, power window problem, and suspension problem.

coz i'm a civic fan. :cheer:

 

actually, i prefer a honda to all other makes. i'm a born honda, 1st bike honda wave s, 2nd bike honda version S, 3rd bike honda wave x, 1st car a honda

 

that's my personal preference.

 

nonetheless, the main reason why i get a used car is because i'm paying my loan for 2 years, $364 a month, rather than strapping myself for a 10 year loan on a hyundai, perhaps paying 400to500/month.

 

road tax wise is 50% higher, new car 1.6L road tax is 372. my car is >14 years old, paying an extra of 186.

 

take 186/6=$31

 

364 (monthly installment)+31 (extra road tax paid) = 395. this is still less than $400/mth installment.

 

get a new car with high loan will only suffer in the long run when u wanna change car. i've paid 6 months already, 1.5yrs more can change to another civic :cheer:

 

however, get old car prepare to pay tons of money especially getting a ah beng chia known as civic esi. paid close to 3k for repairs liao still got some thing haven repair. :sian:

ok anyway my dad used to own a starlet 1992. it caused ton of problems, time and money to fix. same as your "missing" eo blah blah. In my own view I feel purchase of a new vehicle 7 years loan with min 10k down payment is the best.

 

been looking at avante and picanto.. still holding onto my pen.. it is a commitment...

it depends on what u need

 

if u need a transport car for urself, get a kei car Subaru r1,r2, mitsubishi i, or the daihatsu copen. u will save tons of money on road tax and insurance. erp, parking all same so u need not consider them

 

avante is more for those who ferries 4 adults, including driver, comfortably.

 

now, it really depends on what ur needs are. if u need a civic, get hell yeah, get a civic.

coe car like civic has tons of after market parts to source for. if not, try the scrape yard for re-conditioned sets. if not, jb has tons of civic spares.
