u need to weigh your priorities, then find out abt these 2 bikes.

they are too diff to compare without knowing wat criteria u are looking out for.

dun tink any one can help u objectively at this point of time

But i want the bike to be fast and stable too ...

That is why i am so vex between these to bike on which to buy? :giddy:

it's either this,

got money = S4,

no money = TA200

both are good bikes in their own catagories... so it's really up to own preferences...:cheeky:

juz a few points to consider ,

1) if go long distance every day , best get super 4 , bigger tank n also have fuel gauge .

2 ) if u r short , get phantom , seat height low .

3) both r honda . :cheeky:

4) maintenance wise , phantom should be cheaper cos tyre wear will be less .

5) get a phantom if insurance and rd tax worries u .

TA200 cheap and maintenance cheap. Single cylinder and engine oil also much less than CB400. SpecII needs over 3 bottles, and 4 spark plugs!!! Blardy expensive. TA200 lighter, about 140 kg, SpecII about 180 kg.

Riding posture, TA200 is cruiser type, quite comfy. But weight on your bum, while CB400 can take weight on feet too, can withstand shock to your spine when going over rough road, humps etc.

Speed, of course CB4 faster lah. Top end CB4 close to 200 kmh, I think TA200 only about 120 kmh or slightly more. CB4 also smoother, and more powerful when overtake etc, and more stable cause heavier. If going for highway riding, definitely CB4 faster, and safer cause quicker to get out of tricky situations.

If carry pillion, TA200 definitely a bit of struggle.

I've ridden both, and like both very much. At the end of the day, it depends on what you hope to get out of your bike... performance? comfort? cost of maintenance etc.

at the end of the day, all boils down to whether u can tahan the mthly maintenence of the bike.. buying the bike shld b no prob, is hw u maintain it den its the prob...

i suppose its 2 times the cost of maintaining a TA2 if u decide to choose S4, so if u tink its nt a prob to u den will suggest getting the S4 cos more comfy n powerful...

Philosophy A: Ignore what everyone else thinks. Riding is a better way to get around. Ride paranoid and keep your skills sharp

Philosophy B: Ride with somebody who's better than you. You will pick up a handy trick or new skill just about every time you are out

Philosophy C: You don't need a big bike to prove ur passion for riding

Thanks for all the great advice. Actually i also have consider abt buying Hornet too after seeing the thread on the Hornet Nest hehe..... Is the insurance, road tax and maintenance cheaper compared to S4? I love honda bikes ahha :cheer:

i notice that the pipe for Hornet 250 is very near to the pillion seat. If got pillion then the leg of the pillion wont be burned?

There will always be a more beautiful bike. Make up your mind and buy, you can always change or upgrade later. Just a matter of money mah. But seriously, if want to ride a bit longer, CB4 is a great bike. Phantom cheap and simple to maintain, but really underpowered for highway riding. I'm thinking of upgrading to bigger bike, but in 2 minds, cause I know I will miss my specII.

Great bike isn't it? Really hate to sell it when I upgrade to Cl2, but also know I will regret if I don't try other bikes.

Who knows, maybe next time come back to the s4.

My specII only about 22 km/litre, but prob because I ride with all my valves open and change gear above 6k rpm.
