ur solution.

however do note u're sharing resources, depending what type of game ur playing, playing fb game also require a lot of memory. also these devices might not be able to render 3d.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

Hello Terry,

Because both of you only have one CPU in the house, it can only attend to one person at a time.

There are ways to have two operating systems on a CPU, but this would require very difficult setup; arthur_chan's thin client devices is one example.

Usually, these kinds of setups are common in big sized corporations, but if you're adventurous, maybe you can give it a go.

lol, i forgot to state the final setup might not be good, as it's not meant for gaming sharing. cos if 1 side steals all the resource, the rest will feel lag, end up buying 2 pcs n waste money.

big size company usually dont do these kind of setup. it's only for public access kiosk, where it's locked down n resource required is min. my last company did something similar for a class of about 20 using 4 CPU, in the end they gave up.

Aite bro.

I'll just wait for TS. If he wants to try this setup, i'm sure any one of us IT bikers here in SBF can assist.

But the next thing I'll be expecting would be his computer specs. A dual-core (of a higher end) or quad-core computer may be able to run a desktop virtualization service. A la something like Remote Desktop + virtual machine.

All these aside, he also needs a thin client...a small box that connects his extra screen and keyboard to that single CPU.

I'd rank this with an IT Difficulty of 4 out of 5 wrenches (;

Dear TS,

Have you considered just getting another PC for your wife? I bet you my old rectifier that it would be much cheaper to actually buy a whole new computer.

If space is an issue, give us a picture of your area and we can help you plan the space.

not really, the thin client i suggested is plug n play, anyone with the knowledge of installing a software n plugging in computer cables can easily achieve this. 1 out of 5 wrenches. however the unit is not really cheap for small scale implementation, 1 unit est $200+.

space isn't really an issue nowaday, if u have a desk to place a lcd monitor n keyboard, can get those all built-in (forgot what they call those) into monitor type pc. else if u dont mind the slower speed n smaller screen, less than 1k can get a decent notebook. if budget constraint, $400-600 netbook.
