Speeding, prosecuted in court

12 Demerit Points

 

These offenders will be Prosecuted in court.

 

My friend just received a summon of speeding more than 43km/h. He is waiting for the TP letter to attend court. Does anybody knows what is the penalty for this offence other than the 12 demerit points?

if first timer..usually fined 800 plus 12 pts...tt time i got 800 when i accidentallyly over 43km/hr on kje....so just advice ur fren to standby 800 on nets ...cheers.

i think the fine is depend on the judge, there is a max, but i'm not sure the amount.

 

also court cases might depend on if they want to pursue to add in other matters like dangerous driving. just be in ur best attire n speak in proper manners with good attitude. if u have the cash, engage a lawyer is the best. good luck.

Thanks for the info. I think if somewhere $800 fine is not worth getting a lawyer. They cost much more than the fine, lol. He only concerns about license suspension.

With only 12 pts at stake, I think a suspension is unlikely.

i just a similiar prob wif ur fren.... also waitin for the letter now... jus want to understand, as my class 2 is still under probation until aug... so now im left wif 1 pt... just to ask if i dun get any pts till aug, will my points b at 12 pts left or 1 pt?? cos my class 2 probation is over oredi by den by its not yet 1 yr since i got the demerit pts...

1pt or 0pt. ur demerit pt take 1yr to clear. so next yr apr then u get 12pt. although by aug u can take out ur P plate.

really depends, cos i dont know under what circumstances ur friend was caught. i'm just giving worse case scenerio.

but my licence is not being suspended thou??? cant the class 2 licence be added on the orignal pts?

Their system take time to update. Check http://www.spf.gov.sg/epc/index.htm for your status. The fine will be determined by the judge on that day. Make sure u wear nicely and hope for a lesser fine. u need to pay on the spot.
