I think the garmen policy did not improve my standard of living much, actually I don't know what was improve by them.

I paid for my HDB flat with my salary, I paid for the COE and car price with my salary, I pay for the cloths and food with my salary, I pay for the electricity and water bill with my salary.

I work hard for my annual increment and promotion, no garmen policy can help me but myself.

I keep my job by working hard so that those foreign talent don't replace me in the office, but some of them still climb on top of my head because they have better qualifications.

So what have the garmen policy help me? I really don't know.

 

Everything depends on myself to work for it, the garmen only provide the pressure for me to overcome.

the govt take a cut of your salary, in the form of cpf, income tax, gst (this is ridiculous double taxation your know, your income already tax, buy things still tax some more), erp, coe, custom tax. On top of that, use that money to form NTUC, SPC and sell groceries, petrol back to you at market prices. So you have contributed alot to this weird arrangement. Here's $700 for you to spend. Be a good boy, continue doing what you do until you cant do it anymore.

Actually with only a handful of opposition getting into the paliment also quite useless, everytime got new policy, the pap also can go ahead as they have the majority. End up opposition just to show face in the paliment only....

Precisely Singaporeans lack the tenacity to get what they want. We should all start cooking at home, bring lunch boxes to work, and curb spending, recycle, recycle, force down domestic demand until GST and ERP become obsolete.
