it happens to me a few times, when i'm following a big vehicle, the lights turn orange, the big vehicle goes, i'm left with dashing red light as i can't see what the lights are. if i were to stay put, risk being a green light which the vehicle behind me can see n hit me.

it wasn't much of a deal if the big vehicle dash an orange light, it's when he dash a red light, i'm at fault for dashing together. happened to me twice, lucky there was no camera.

so my qn is

1) will i get summoned if i gave the reason i can't see the lights?

2) how to avoid this scenario?

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

You may want to increase the distance between yourself and the behemoth in front. Authorities will tell you the same thing.

by keeping a distance, i would have to keep at least 1 car length n it's not pratical during a traffic light stop.

So... if the truck decides to jam brake, you will end up smashing into him? Your current distance is obviously too close.

i dont mean tailgating. if lets say there's a red light, u end up behind a bus, dont tell me u keep a distance of 1 car while waiting for the lights to go green. u're partially at fault for keeping such a long distance when the car behind hits u.

Then just wait for the bus/truck to move 1 car length before you move off...

I'm sure you don't stop just inches behind the front vehicle, do you?

keep a longer following distance behind big vehicles to increase the field of vision, reaction time, etc...

change lane to avoid having big vehicle blocking you

my worry abt dashing redlight is not the summon, its getting smashed by traffic coming from wherever.

let me give u the 2 scene i encountered.

on a very wide junction, all waiting to do right turn, lights were red, bus is first vehicle, i'm behind, center. think there's 4 lights. lights turn green, every vehicle go, right turn supposely to go and wait in pocket correct. bus goes, i follow. big mistake. there's a red right arrow, thus bus essentially dash a red light. there're 4 lights, the left n hanging on top doesn't show right turn red arrow. the right/front light is blocked by the bus, the extreme right light is an odd angle to check even if i could. besides, u're suspose to focus on what's infront, not tilting ur head, least u lose ur balance or wobble.

2nd incident; 2 lane, left lane occupied by large vehicles, right lane i'm following behind a lorry, from far i can see the hanging lights r green, however when going closer, left n hanging lights r completely blocked. very congested road n moving very slow. red lights, the lorry in front dash, i'm following closely behind, unknowingly it's red, pedestrians start crossing halfway btw 2 big vehicles, (i couldn't even see the green man), suddenly the pedestrian dash out when i still think it's green n almost hit him. he showed me an angry face, which i dont know what's happening until i realise it red for me.
