wads your budget?

 

a blackbird can range as low as 6k to as high as 20.5.

 

depends on age and condition and accessories.

go to LTA and renew.

price will be the average of the last 3 mths.

 

once it reaches 10 YO, road tax will increase gradually 10% p/a until it reaches 150%

My budget, hmmm......depends....willing to fork out around 8k for old model BB. As for new one, will need to COI. Any recommendation guys!!

my reccomendation is to buy a newer bike.

 

buying an old bike will lead to more problems in future.

 

i used to own a 11-12 YO bike before. would visit the the mechanic relatively often.absolutely spoil the riding mood.

 

although i bought the bike cheap, but the amount spent on repairs is more than the bike price itself liao.

 

learnt my lesson and bought a 3YO cbr11. till riding more than 1 yr liao only alternator and clutch pump need to change due to wear and tear only

 

do give it some thought.

i do agree..my 99 carb BB not so smooth afterall..the power doesnt seems to be there after riding for a few weeks.. anyone care to share what could be the reason? have already service the bike: change engine oil, oil filter, plugs etc..

josean, regard to the rd tax, mine currently stand at $202 half a yr..u mean by 10 YO, it wil add additional 10% to $202, and every yr will increase by 10% till 150%?

11th year.

road tax = $202 x 110%

 

12th year

road tax = $202 x 120%

 

etc till it reaches 150%.

 

 

its the same for cars too.

 

imagine the road tax of a 15Yo 3litre classic porche.

reasons:

 

1. wrong engine oil

2. chain slack

3. worn wheel bearings

4. valve/shim clearence + carbon deposits

5. psycological effect

6. poor gear transmission

7. carbs dirty/ tuning out

8. i think of something then i add....

 

my reccomendations as follows. u can choose not to do so also

 

1. buy 2 bottle of zx1 extralube from bike tech 21. each bt costs 20-22. cant rem how much

2. since u just change EO, pour 1.5 BT into the tranny and mix with your EO.

3. monitor the situation after a few days then add the remaining 1/2 BT into petrol tank.

 

u may argue abt placebo effect and the effects of using additive blah blah blah.

costs u less than 50 bucks.

 

results only u know yourself. those who didnt try won't understand
