After 1.5 yrs of riding & inching..my bb managed to inch another 5km from 299km to 304km before reserve fuel blink..however I achieved dat by i will sometimes switch off my engine when I stop at traffic light dat wait quite long de..

The max I rode so far after reserve light blink is 47km..still hoping to able to inch more in future..

Of coz riding styles, traffic conditions & loads always play a variable components in achieving these readings..

Dont push too far..coz when bikes goes dry, pushing is no fun on blackbird..unless you riding honda wave lah...i normally go 50km max upon the reserve light blink..can got 30kms more till dry but play safe..

But on nshw i play more safe,20km max once light blinks..

Yah only do so in favorable & safe conditions..dats y took so long to observe..hard to go all out to inch the max..

True if really strike lottery on nshw, the petrol station might be close for renovations or wat..😂

I kena like that before bro..always pump at gp petronas..my normal ext stop will be at ayer keroh overhead restaurant caltex..but before ayer keroh my bike will go reserve. That one fine night i rode average speed above 220kph,upon reaching the the caltex,it was dark(petrol kiosk under renovation)...

Crossed my fingers hoping i can reach the next R&R with petrol kiosk..damn suay i missed the pedas linggi R&R,due to my stupidity as riding too fast..at last i exit senawang to shell kiosk, i pumped 23L..PHEEEWW!!!..

Hi All,

I'm going to be a new Blackbird owner (tomorrow!) :-) I had a quick question.

I'd love to install a small lockable storage compartment in the fairing to store my Nets card, GPS, iPhone, passport when I travel and so on. Is there anyone in Singapore who can do that sort of moulded plastic or fiberglass body work? Does anyone have experience with this sort of modification?

Thank you!

Sakai, i tink we have a lady rider la, Laura for moulding of compartment on bb fairing is not practical, y not settle for a small box like those TP but it best u have a thigh bag for those kinda storage, juz my 2 cents

Hi All,

Thank you for your welcome & the advice! The bike is ridiculously powerful, isn't it? Kind of like pushing a button on the highway and having all the cars around you suddenly change. I used to have a Triumph Sprint ST (955). It was powerful, but nothing like this.

Not sure how to solve the riding storage problem yet. Small tank bag or box perhaps that I can stow under the seat or in the panniers (getting panniers and topbox) when I park? Hm.

Anyone have risers? Motoworld has Variobars, in 2 sizes. I'm familiar with Helibars. I just want to take some of the weight off my wrists without changing the dynamics of the bike too much.

Also, what would be the best shop to have a look at refurbishing parts of it? Things like re-seating the fairing or changing the older top plastic panels, installing a 12v outlet, seeing what can be cleaned up or repainted inexpensively and so on.

Thank you all for your advice!

I hear y'all go on rides. WHere do you post these so perhaps I can join sometime?

Wah so many questions...

The trimph bike kan keep in store.

Nothings beat the black bird in term of power....

If get risers you need to take note on the...

-clutch n brake hose

-Need to change throttle cable

Other than that you must know Abt the bb common problem is the 25 blink....

Chk with the seller regarding this....

Panniers for bb are expensive and hard to get now a days....

For touring we do sometimes state in the forum...

For bike technical information and touring you might want to look for

-greysnail

-bluejelly

Y not get a small magnetic tank bag unless ur bike oredi have a tankbra.

For risers u can actually use a VFR800 handlebars or change to those expensive Variobars, or simply raise the handle clip to a certain height. I did mine so far so gd.

Hi,

My bike is free from 25 blinks problem. No worries with 2005 model onwards.

You may do/refurbish up ur seats and leather at Eugene Saddlery.

Metal works can go to Seng Kwang or Bike fabricator.

Servicing as mentioned....my bike is fully serviced by Planet Motors at Ubi.

Plastic/fibre works can be done at First Motor at Ubi too.

For any help do get to know my friends jebat and greysnail. Tgey can give you good advice.

A question if guys have an answer b4 I buy parts. Base on ur experience , my bike cant startup properly recently. Even if it starts up , it has irregular firing of pistons with petrol smell and black smoke coming out from exhaust then die again... check fuel pump, ok! Check batt , ok! What could be thw highest percentage cause of faults?

Have u check ur fuel pressure regulator? Before starting ur bike, spray some water on ur headers, normally pipe 1 and 4 will heat up and 2 & 3 will not. This is a sign of fail fuel pressure regulator. A quick fix of $50++ on dat

Oh yeah its located at the end of the fuel rail, right hand side
