Hello guys..

im plannin to diy on my belly pan - re-spray it to blue color.. anythin do i nid to take note when im doin it?

Have it clean properly before u spray. Ensure no stickers and dirts on the surface. Give a surface mill using fine glass paper. Clear all dust or particles again before spraying. Ensure each coat is abt 20-30 mins of drying before applying another coat.

sand,wash,then thin layer of spray follow by thin layer of lacqure.as for how many thin layer,depend on oneself.but normaly i do 5 layer each.

To ensure the paint lasts, spray on a sunny day. Let each coat dry before spraying.

 

Do not spray too much or the paint will bubble and will not give smooth finish.

 

Test on something easy to spray first like scrap objects or the top box.

 

125z is really easy to spray, just take your time and enjoy it.

Thx guys.. so do i nid to spray lacqure on every layer? meaning after a layer of blue spray, i spray a layer of lacqure... n it keep on repeating for a few times.. am i right abt tat?

I spray lacquer only on the top coat and once everything "baked" nicely under the sun, a layer of turtle wax for durability.

 

 

I sprayed my 125z in 2006 and it looked exactly the same in 2010 :3

 

All colours and clearcoat were RJ London.

 

This type of custom design would cost you like $850 if done in shop. DIY = $50 inclusive of friend's makan + supplies :3

 

Other methods may differ but I know mine works.
