Em i m new here.. but i saw a bike called: GILERA DNA i hope to learn more abt the bike.. cos it sure look very cool to me for a 2B bike:) Duno noe how much it will cost.. n whether its part are hard to find or exp... n maintence also:) hope can get help frm u guys:) Thanks!!!

its practically extinct,

but the surviving ones i have seen so far are rather well kept.

So yes, its rideable, maintenance will be the same as any gilera runners.

Only down side is that the fairings once broken, good luck sourcing in Singapore.

Hi there. For Gilera DNA, the engine is exactly the same as a Gilera Runner.

 

It's not in production since very long ago, and this bike is very very rarely seen in Singapore.

 

But I am proud to say that I own one. In fact, till now I've only seen one DNA in Singapore which is mine. But of course there are still others lying around.

 

The outlook basically don't even look like a scooter. But the wheels are scooter wheels. Its smaller in size but thicker than normal 2B bikes. People say it looks like a Super Four. It is also an auto bike, which gives it great pick up.

 

My DNA is of stock paintwork and stickers, and the only mod was GPR pipe. I am proud to say that I love my DNA. If I am not wrong there is only 12 left in Singapore.

 

There is a guy selling his DNA. PM oscar23. Hope to see you at the SBF DNA Cafe. It's pretty quiet now, all the old birds have moved on to bigger bikes.

 

If you want a rare bike, easy to ride, a head turner, this bike is for you. If you want a manual bike and want speed, this bike is not for you. Highest speed I went on my DNA was 130km/h, but the ex-owner told me it's possible to go till 150km/h.

Nice to hear the comments abt yr DNA, Daleful, I just bought a 5 yr old DNA myself abt 2 mths ago and did a full servicing on it. The ride feels good and the pickup is great. It's also a plus point for me to ride a bike that's pretty rare around town . One question of ya all don't mind, there's this squiking sound that comes out from my bike when I ride around it, not all the time but it's pretty frequent. Took it to one workshop and the mechanic said he tightened all the screws and overall the bike is ok, but the sound is still around. Anyone able to advise?

Yes, i totally agree b the rare bike on the road, if i aint gonna upgrade i prob wun sell my bike, Its really hard to find..

 

With regards, to the "funny" sound u encounter i prob "metal" cover they take out to service might be burn, thats when u "Ramp" ur bike too often.

My top speed for my DNA was @ 130km/h too. I doubt can ramp til 150 lor. LOL** its realy a fun and enjoyable ride with my DNA too bad i have to let go!! sigh**

 

Well, Piaggio has almost everything required for the spare parts though.

Generally DNA is a easy to maintain bike so long as u change ur EO, and normal servicing.

Very Fun bike to play with..

prob a smaller version of GSR ( but its Auto)

Anyway about the 'squiking' sound, I've never encountered anything that sounds like 'squiking', but I've encountered rattling noises when I throttle at high speeds. Is it that rattling sound? I suspect that the rattling sound is because of the fairings not screwed right enough. For squiking sound maybe it's the drive belt? I'm not sure. Anyway which bike shop you go to? Better go to those at kallang and specialize in gilera, like tai hin.

This bike is not in production anymore, so the fairings and external parts are hard to get. In singapore it's quite impossible to get, but you can try importing from the following website.

Yo Daleful. Yes my DNA is a current bright yellow and it looks nice, however the condition is not that good and I'm considering going for a spray paint. I just got both my wheels changed at Tai Hin (Kallang) yesterday and also talked to the boss abt it, he said it's gonna cost me abt $400+. Did I tell u I just got the bike abt 2 mths ago? And with tat I did a full servicing plus changed the wheels yest, so it's another $800+ just to get a peace of mind when riding my DNA . I might wait a little while I fill my pocket first before deciding on the spraypaint.

in actual fact, there is not much to mod for DNA. and if u think ur condition is quite bad u should have bought it in the first place. well, sell it, and buy frm Daleful lor. His not bad.

But too bad i juz bought mine.

 

Aniwae, to those interested in DNA, there is one DNA along serg. road nt bad condition.

Its near the indian temple b4 & opp Bike production.
