Just thought of a cheapskate DIY.

If u still have the cover.

Why dun u buy those door hinge, small ones. Stainless steel ones. Also Epoxy.

Sand of the cover to even the surface.

Then u epoxy the cover and IU to the hinge. Not too much epoxy so the hinge still can move.

Let the epoxy cure and u have ur cover fix liao at low cost for the hinge and epoxy only.

the warranty does not cover that, same like ur hp.. if ur hp scratch or crack, warranty dun cover..

the warranty is only valid if the IU, for no apparent reason, fail to work/get detected. i'm not sure about wiring prob coz nvr encounter that b4.

How to check if your IU is still under warranty???

it must be in working condition. for old iu, warranty is 5yrs.. new iu is 3yrs..

easiest go vicom n ask.. correct me if wrong..

Heres an idea. If your IU is still under warranty, then take it out and fry the circuit with battery of higher voltage. The operating voltage is 12v. Get at least 36v, and power the IU.

Once confirm it's gone, go vicom and tell them it's not working for no apparent reason. Kekeke

woah fierce.. where to get the 36v? obviously i'm not asking where to buy but where to get.. for free or a small cost.

Well.. You can connect 4 9volt battery, the square one, in series and power it up.

Anyway, it's just a suggestion, I have not done it before. I don't even know whether it will work.

For most car electronics, I know there will be a voltage protection, in case of voltage spike. Thus it might not work.. :)

Bought my bike and after riding few days realise IU unit spoil. Tell shop, they say no spare IU unit and dont know when new unit will come in.

Bike shop can sell bike with spoil IU unit?

I know kinda my fault, check bike but never check IU. Now, 4 months ltr still no working IU.

Lucky I seldom ride my bike to ERP congested areas. Any bros any recommendation? 1 new IU damn expensive... Ask from shop again, they still say dont have.

what a dishonest shop. i guess they knew about the spoiled iu but they choose to hide it from you. next time remember to check. i made the same mistake as you when i brought my first bike from a private seller.

how is your iu spoiled? i think the shop has spare iu, be it second hand or new ones, but they say they have no spares because they wanna siam responsibility.

if your iu is really spoiled, you can go buy a new one which cost over 100+ i think, or get a second hand ;)

Yeah, my exact sentiments. They came up with the bs that other owners that buy from their shop also no IU unit and they are also 'waiting for IU' so I have to join in the queue...
