A relay cost at most $8 from any car audio shop.

For your purpose, there is no need to put a relay. This mod is very simple.

Just go Sim Lim Tower to get a SPST Toggle switch, about $4, and a water proof cap, about $1.50.

Trace the Lo-beam headlight wire, just cut the one that you don't like (there are only two wires, just cut anyone), and connect the ends to the toggle switch.

Where and how to mount the toggle switch is entirely left to your initiative. On a FZ1, it should not be challenging.

30 mins job at most.

This is a very useful mod especially for those Cl 2 bike with small batteries like most big traillies.

Just to add, this mod is illegal.

There was 1 nite i was turning out from SPH carpark to mainroad (driving a class 4 truck) ,the carpark was so dim that i didn't see a oncoming bike (Black color class 2 bike with all black tshirt,Yamaha R1 ,i think ! ) .

He never switch on light and was riding quite fast , dashing towards the exit, if i go a little faster (my speed was about 25km/h),

it will sure be the end of story for him .he will be pinned under the truck ,and squashed like canned ham .

Please Switch on your bloody headlight , i cant see you bikers in the dark .

Not worth saving a little batt at the cost of your life ,Think twice !

When you want to start your bike, sometimes not enough power from the battery to start. My bike, if 1 day never ride and i try to electric start with the headlights on, cannot start. I must turn off the headlights first.

u can either jux use a toggle switch to off the headlights before u start the engine.. then turn it on later...

or.. u can google on hw to use sum relays and diodes to switch the headlights on only when the engine is running.. i.e. some sports bikes... dats a more convenient way w/o messing ard wif switches that can fail u during inspection.. but heard that ur charging is reduced slightly... nt so advisable lar..
