Not riding YET... Collecting my Vespa LX150 on Wednesday! :D

Haha. vespa cute! :slurp:

Finally!! Someone who's at the same lesson as me! I just failed again today. And, interestingly, I got into a minor accident (another trainee behind me didn't notice I had stopped) and walked off without a scratch. Then, I went home, and walked into the door frame, and scrapped my elbow.

I'm going for my 4th attempt this Sunday. Hoping that I'll finally get the hang of U-turns on Friday's CR, and clear the lesson confidently on Sunday.

waa. You also same as me. very sian one sia. I also dunno y i do so many stupid mistakes. The instructors told me my U-turn needs improvement, when turning must keep more to the centre of the lane. And i got a bad habit of keeping a very far distance from the bike infront. The instructor told me to open more trottle. :sian: Im gonna go for CR liao. Hope to improve on my mistakes. Hope this coming saturday i can pass bah. Mine's the 10.30am slot. Maybe i can book CR on the 8.15am slot to practise just b4 my prac 6.1. :D

sorry for the long post. just venting my frustrations here. haha.

1. Do a market research on the norm market rate for the same model at bikesmart if u can..

2. Don't be too over attacted by the exterior (not saying no important),

u have to ensure the engine is in good condition (regularly maintenance)- check of oil leaks stain on it's engine surrounding,

if not ..later need overhaul -that will make u cough quite substantial money later on to add up the total cost on the machine

3. Since it's a old bike - sure got wear and tear... if the owner say "no" ...he must be lying.... ask him...what has he changed recently (best with track record of receipt as proves) and check what u need to touch up...and to know what are main cost contributor for you to put into the consider equation for buying due to extra repair to be done...

btw 1.5K , how many COE to go ?

Just to slightly share with u, it really need a lot of patience - most important dun rush. ...not because most bro here got one after they passed...and rush into it... i spent many weekends going around to do cherry picking..

a. after checking SBF bike mart, i intentionally avoided buying from SBF bike mart...cos the market rate are pretty transparent.... as it seems had already formed some market expectation over pricing.....

b. I go into sg.88db.com.sg and singapore.locanto.sg prey for those single seller who are not been updated on market pricing.(but bike in good condition) ..and eager to let go... (talk to them...tactically tap if they are eager to let go...if they are .. u play the time dragging tactics)

c. This is how i managed to press down on prices.... and got a left COE 5yrs + phantom at 1.5K in quite good condition... market rate then was 2.2-2.3K.. save some $$ in case u need to fork out to repair anything...at later stage

d. Go down and inspect the bike...(best with a friend who have mechanical background) to test it out...

e. Trace how long & and times the owner had put up ad. to sell ? If it is too long or too frequent, there may be a reason behind (bike condition / or price too stiff?).. do a search on the same model ... and take note of the pics & detail of bikes...

In facts, I even spotted the same bike changing hands with short period using the same pics or bike outlook and no plate.. these are the one u should avoid...

nearly forgot...try to negotiate and seek for a short period of warranty like a week... when you ask this question... carefully observe the seller reaction...

period could be from 1 week to a few... based on your confortable level...and nego

just some sharing with u...........hope it will help u...to save some $$$

Going for my first Lesson 3 later in the afternoon. Hot weather, gonna have tan lines again.

Anyway just passed my BTT this morning, but the SSDC computer does not allow me to book my FTT, so do I have to go straight to the counter?

Errr there's only one theory test for 2B what... Unless you're talking about the new defensive riding theory test, I dunno anything about that.

U took BTT under private or school de? If it's under private, then u need to go information counter to ask them to update for you before you can book FTT. Show them the slip(can get it beside the counter at 3rd floor) to proof that you pass ur BTT.

U pass BTT le actually can enroll for school to start ur driving lessons immediately, but then again, u may choose private as well.. it's up to you.

Dont register school for FTT lesson cos quite ex($100+) i tink, need to go to attend classroom lesson. Can self study then DIY lo, dont waste $$ cos all the question are the same like RTT...

hehe... i cleared BTT and FTT for 1st attempt... but then haven decide to take car lessons becos 2b haven pass... hehe...

Errr there's only one theory test for 2B what... Unless you're talking about the new defensive riding theory test, I dunno anything about that.

BTT and FTT is for class 3 license.

BTT -> basic theory test -> class 3

FTT -> final theory -> class 3

RTT -> Riding theory test -> class 2b

The above i mention are those that need to go into class room 4(forgot) to take the test... got many cameras to monitor all the students de...

I trying to say, it is a impt theory test to pass.. just like 2b... must pass before you can go out on road...

FTT can wait.... but before tp test must pass... if not no need to think of going for tp.

Just my 2cents =)

Yea, I'm a Private student and that's what I did just now. Take the slip and ask them to update before booking my FTT. Don't intend to enrol for the lessons la, think self-study and save the money for 2B Pracs better.

I think a sure-win method is to book a Theory Practice just before the FTT. That's what I did in the morning for my BTT. The last 10 mins of the practice I was not even reading and basically looking for keywords. Guess what, the exact same questions were asked and I done my BTT under 10 mins. LOL, first to get out the classroom.

Gonna do the same for my RTT, which is next week.

Yap the practice is really good before actual test. 1 time pass for all my theory(s)... :cheeky:

Yeah I know BTT and FTT are for Class 3... It's just that he was previously only talking about 2B, so I was under the impression he was only taking 2B at SSDC. :)

Oh yea, I had the privilege of having our very own 'Corse' as my instructor for the day!

He's good, very good in fact. He taught very clearly on how to clear the different obstacles and correct our mistakes immediately. Everything was straightforward and to the point. I cleared Lesson 3 in one attempt.
