Dear all,

I am appealing for any eye witnesses for a traffic accident that has occurred at the

intersection of Central Blvd and Raffles Quay (corner of Lau Pa Sat, facing Hong Leong Building)

It occurred at 9:45pm on 19 June 2011. The accident involves a green Cherry QQ and a black Mitsubishi Lancer GLX.

The situation is like this:

My car (lancer) was travelling along Central Blvd while the other car was travelling on Raffles Quay (perpendicular to Central Blvd). We were both going straight and collided at the intersection. He hit my right side, causing me to spin out 180 degrees before coming to a halt. I am very confident that the lights were in my favour, however he insisted that his was green as well. The was a video camera pointing at the intersection, unfortunately I was told that LTA will not release the footage unless its a serious or fatal accident.

Hence, I am really hoping for someone to step up as an eye-witness. Right now, it is only my words against his. Anyone who has been in this type of accident would know that the liabilities will be split around 50-50%. I feel that this is really unfair for the innocent party, unfortunately this is how the law works when there is no hard evidence or witness. I sincerely appeal for any eye-witness who may have been driving or walking around the area during that time. I understand that it may be troublesome to step up as an eye-witness and I really appreciate it if anyone would step up as a witness.

Also, if you happen to know the proceedings in obtaining the video footage from LTA, please advise too. You can contact me here, through my email at [email protected] or call me at 9 727 9596

Thank you very much!

Yours sincerely,

Leonard

Can LTA or TP explain why video cannot be shown. Then what is the use of having camera at all?? Unless there is a fatality???? cant any lawyer ask for it?? of the camera wastn working at all?? cant you go to see anyone about this?? we always hear of professional forensic who can see from the tires markings and the dent or damage and can deduce who is at fault. Dont we have them here in Singapore?? or I am watching to many CSI???

Bro, I REALLY hope you win .

MR BIKER: It seems that according to LTA website, a court order is necessary for them to release the video. This probably means a prolonged fight already. So what I'm really hoping is to find someone who was there. I just want to end this quick :(

Unfortunately, I don't think the authorities will put in so much effort like in those shown in CSI to handle such cases. Thanks a lot for your well wishes :)

wait4me: I really hope they can use those videos or any other video cameras on site. The accident involves a huge area due to the spin-out and should at least see a part of the whole accident. Someone has to pay for all the pain and the trouble involved in settling all these paperwork.

I can imagine if I was riding a motorcycle at that time. Probably won't even exist anymore.

Well Bro,

Your story same as mine. Its happen on my B'day at night while i was travelling from Pandan Garden to Jurong Town Hall, Just near Teban Flyover. I was driving in the centre lane when an idoit driver on my left just swerve to my lane without signal. It cause my front right bumper n headlight scratch. The best part was he did not admit his fault and just simply say ......claim insurance loh...... It does really piss me off but since this is singapore .....i just cant really throw any punch to anyone...so i just cool my self. It the end my NCD is being forfitted now n my premium went as high as 3k now. Im just about to appeal to Lta for help as there is a camera nearby. Just hope it will really help. So just crossing my finger.....

Hope your case could settle soon....cheers

Fuzzy, try writing to the Straits Times forum to complain and say LTA is not helping. With all the news on increasing premiums, LTA may be forced to respond.
