Hi guys, shall we organise a chendol Malacca trip in Aug 2008 Vara events since we have been discussing it for quite some time. After Durian Chendol cum lunch we shall carry our durian plantation hunt @ Segamat .Interested party, pls signed up now.

 

Note: It's a kind of treasure hunt game for this trip as i manage to keep all the gps co-ordinates . So if get lost don't blame me, blame the guys who input the wrong info to us. Kekee...

day 1: Meet ian at his place around 1145pm and set off to mustaffa centre to meet Don

and change money. Last minute shopping to find epopxy and DV tape. met KC, Kumar, chrislayer

and joemac... convoy to GP petronas and reach around 0130hrs... kinda late... talk co*k abit

and we set off on our adventure journey at 0230hrs. make an unofficial stop at around 100+km

due to ian visor got smack by some bug. Reach our first stop at Ayer keroh petronas feeling

abit sleepy and super hungry... bought some snacks and usual Fuji cocktail redbull + ribenna.

move off to rawang, no nonsense... fill up tank with petrol, body with redbull and lungs

with marlboro and off we go to the next stop... semanggol, by this time it is already daybreak.

decided to make another unofficial stop to don't know what place it is... got dunkin doughnut

for breakfast. Fuji got his power nap.... Ian and Don make a prank on fuji.. tring to leave

fuji while he was taking a nap... stop at Gurun to purchase insurance... last stop bukit kayu

hitam.. we really hit the sleepy point by this time... reach sadao border, take a few pictures

and cross the thai border with ease. push further to reach hat yai around 4pm..... First setback

= no more rooms at Be my Guest... too tired we got a hotel at the opposite, BP grand tower hotel.

wash up and roam around hat yai town for fooooooooooooooooooood... got back to hotel and

sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!!!

 

Day 2: wake up early in the morning and wash up.... setback no 2 = fuji panniers key broke and

he don't bring spare key.... secure panniers with bungy cord and move off for breakfast.. eat

dim sum for breakfast.... happy.. happy .. dim sum.. melting in a pot... happy.. happy .. dim

sum.. melting in a pot... after breakfast, fuji is on his way for is small adventure to get his

panniers key duplicate.. went to under the bridge for it... key = 30baht, tuk-tuk = 100 baht....

the relief on Fuji's mind = priceless...... start journey to Donsak ferry point at 01.30pm...

kinda late but we have no hurry... make a few unofficial stop for petrol... FYI thai petrol

unleaded 91 = petrol/banzine cost 42 baht, while unleaded 95 = Gas oil cost 38 baht.... so, please

pump 91 and not 95****** on the way to ferry pier mother nature pull a prank on us... rain stop

rain stop rain stop... Fuji put on and off his raining suit for so many times.... Well, As we

approached DonSak just along khanom.. Fuji experienced his first ever fall on the Varadero!!!!!!!!

He skidded on the gravel due to hard braking & fu*k type road conditions + Dondiddie's GPS miscalculation

causing Fuji to brake hard to make the turn.. Fuji is THANKFUL for his 5 STAR crashbar & panniers that

took the impact of the crash .. Yes, the bike & him is still in one piece.. Just a bit shaken but not stirred.

Push on further to reach the ferry terminal and we miss the 0600pm ferry but luckily got the 7pm last ferry

to Koh samui... as we are waiting for the ferry to unload... Dondiddie forgot to put on his side stand and due

to "uneven road suface", "sea current" and "sudden gust of wind"..)normally one will find all sort of reason to

explain due to EGO) we hear a loud thud and Don bike fell on

ian's bike and broke don's windshield.... take note: Don's power bronze windshield is only less 1 month old... it

broke in to 7 pieces...... after soo many set backs, WE FINALLY REACH KOH SAMUI..... took us a while running

round and round lamai beach to find our resort.... finally we made it to our villa, had a good shower and

and rest a while... our last meal was the dim sum breakfast... Fuji is super-duper hungry up to the max....

we roam around town and settle down in a very nice restaurant for our Lunch + dinner... time check 0100am....

total bill for the makan come to 1640baht... let me tell you what we had.... Siakap fish, Curry crab, fried rice,

american fried rice, tom yam soup, potato and egg salad, seafood soup, prawn cake, fish cake, mussels....

that is dirt cheap for those kind of dishes.... afetr makan we hang put by the bar to have cold beers....

finish the day with a 1 km hike way up to our resort.. fuji can feel the fat burning.... sleep like a baby all of us.

 

now is day 3...and lots more to come......
