No..... most mech shops here go by apprenticeship.... new mech are paid lowly and learn from senior/chief mechs....

what if, what if there were to be a reliable & premium workshop in singapore that covers more than what shops offer now?

 

- intensive knowledge of vintage to current bikes

- restoration of old bikes, (not many bikes in singapore survive well over 10years, which is a pity sometimes)

- rebuilding engines, forks etc.

- jobs done with pride, rather than driven by profit

- etc,etc,etc & etc..

We don't really have porters, machinists etc. Have also very rare and secluded.

actually there r such machine shops, they make requested customize parts to specifications but normal ppl cant afford to pay for their works, it mount to thousands or some can be 10~100 thousands of dollars per job.

 

used to work for aero mro shop, always break some jigs n need replacement.

Nah, talking about machining on existing engines like intake, exhaust porting etc.

if u willing to pay, they will take the job up to ur spec.

not those rubbish mach shop, engineer to specification precision.

the coe kills the car industry, cause scraping for the parf money, and vehicles beyond 15 years pay 150% road tax.

And stockist will not bring in end of line models if it is rare or low demand. only thing we maintain >10 years is ministers ridiculous pay and its always the same guy! i really don't know what to say!

still minimum costs to rebuilt bikes is easily $7k upwards, not many rebuilders, and not many customers

willing to pay that kind of money. must well buy new bikes. its the costs issue, and bike enthusiasts population in sg not enuff.
