Anyone interested in a D.I.Y Free Air Filter ReOiling Session ?

Im using Maxima Spray-On AirFilter Oil Spray. Good n effective.. Tried on my bike. :)

So basically, come down to my place n wash your AirFilter. OR Just try out this Maxima product (Just apply on without washing)

REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR TOOL to take out your OWN airfilter.

Im not a saleperson or watsoever, neither am i related to them.

Make sure your air filter is those WASHABLE TYPE, not original filter.

Location : Jurong West

Time : After 9pm everyday / OR at my convenience.

I am interested, what do you used to wash and how long it takes to dry before oiling it?

i soaked the air filter with water & powder detergent(used to wash clothes) for about 20-30min before Rinsing with normal water..

after tat, Tap Gently on the AirFilter so as to make the water flow out more faster, rather than wait for it to evaporate traditionally(consume time) & i oso not using any heating element(May Spoil Filter Medium)

Estimated time from Start to End Process : about 1hr (DEPENDS ON THE WEATHER)

If SUNNY WEATHER, BEST

Do update me if anyone interested, so i may make myself free on tat day.

Alternatively, can oso come dowon for a ReOil Session..

Ps : Wat i used to wash my AirFilter is what i deem suitable for my filter, IF you are not confident with my method, by all means you can do by your method.

If you are using K&N, do not use the powder detergent. Its going to damage the cotton filter media.

Bikes

Men ride it. Boys dream about it.

Thanks where to purchase the Maxima spray AF oil and how much is it, does Maxima sell the AF cleaner?

I am considering to buy the K&N recharger kit or Maxima, K&N has both AF cleaner and AF oil but not sure about Maxima.

so stupid use clothes detergent.

Bro you dont have to be so mean with your words, I think its a good gesture that someone is offering free service and you have the choice not to accept the offer if its not up to your expectation.

Some mechanic I saw use compressed air to blow off dust on the K&N filter without realizing its causing damage to the filter media.

LOL i always wash without spraying the air filter oil eh HAHA, dunno what is the use of the oil also, will have any side effects? LOL

purpose of the oil is causing dirt to stick on the filter. the side effect is higher engine wear without air filter oil.

sorry to bring up this old thread. but how often do you guys wash your filter? i asked a few shops and most of them recommend between 10,000-15,000km.

i surf a bit to find out and saw K&N said only clean when the wire mesh is no longer visible. i think for me it will take quite a few years to reach that stage.

i used to change my paper air filter at 10,000km where the manual recommended 12,000km. the filter is still decently clean at that stage. most of my friends use their air filter much longer then mine.

Well... Typically, recommended is to change every 10 000km or 1 year( whichever comes 1st )

If those with washable type, service it abt 10 000km or so..

Many factors may affect the conditions of the filter.

Eg (dusty/sandy environment n ECT)

I'm sure U wouldn't want to risk damaging your engine coz of nt servicing the filter or Replacing the worn-out Stock AirFilter to "save few bucks of your money"

Worth saving $$ or being Plain- Lazy..??

Think again . . . .
