given the fact that you are still a student enlisting in a couple of months time, and do not wish to be weigh down by upkeeping of a bike, I reckon the ZXR400 is out of your pick.

 

 

Every bike have thier Plus and Minus.

 

It so happens that your needs clash with the disadvantage of the bike.

 

"blessed" with the highest compression ratio in stock trim, it also means that it runs relatively hot, and this PROBABLY explains why they use one of the bigeest radiator. And this makes the bike runs very much hotter when you are caught in a traffic jam. Don not discount this as trivial matters as heat is the no.1 enemy of any engine.

 

Flat spots on the low end makes city riding a b_itch.

 

On top of that, ZXR400 suffers from worn tappets and cams. It was expecially pronouce among L1 to L5. It was until L7 onwards that theres some slight improvement, nevertheless, this problem still occurs. Repair bill estimated at one grand depending case to case.

 

 

As for parts support, the only problem is non other then our local agent doing such "fine" job that it really discouraging.

 

therefore in a nutshell, my humble opinion suggest that go for something that is pratical.

I saw one yesterday there....superb condition...heard the owner spend a few grands to do it up... delicious :smile:
