bro, seriously any number of things.

if upon trying to start, now the crank is weak or wont even crank and everything including lights die off, and especially if clocks reset, then must be something due to batt. a flat batt gives these symptoms.

on the other hand, you mentioned it died off while riding. usually if the engine is running, even a low batt wont cause the engine to die off. low batt makes the bike cannot start upon cranking. i did experience wat you describe twice on my cbr600rr, as in it died off while engine running. both times, it was not the battery because headlights, dash lights and clocks were working fine. the first time, i could crank the bike normally but the engine just refused to fire. a few hours later i came back to the bike and mysteriously it started just fine. the second time it happened, i successfully started the engine after a third press of the starter button.

i have no idea wat happened. a common thing was that both times my bike had very recently been serviced, and both times upon getting the bike started i noticed that the idling was exactly at 1000rpm mark and sounding too soft (manual suggests 1300rpm). after bringing it up to just under 1500rpm mark, the problem did not recur. and those were the only two times i experienced it in my 7 years of ownership.

but it can be something else altogether. any number of things.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!
