What's a Mito 525??

ok, treat it as a typo.. it's the newer cagiva mito 125.. it says 525, but it's jus another 125!

so how? can offer any rear shock help?

I would say it's a waste of money. If you want to mod a bike, I would rather choose 2A bikes and above. 2A bikes can satisfy a rider better.

Otherwise, if you're stuck with 2B at the moment, choose another bike with lower seat requirement. Most ppl I know don't stay at 2B, except those uncles, hence we prefer to buy something cheap to learn around first.

Hi tuAs_ridEr

I would advise to try going to one of those seat cover shops (saddlery?) along Jalan Besar and asking them to shave down the rider seat first. An inch or 2 (if the seat is thick) may just help your girlfriend to touch the floor. I did it on my bike and it helps.

Is her bike a used bike? If so do take a look and check if the rear shock's preload has been wound up to the max. There are riders who like the pointy-tail-to-the-sky look who do it. It is a bad idea cos the rear spring is not compressing and the bike can lose traction. Side effect is that the seat will be too high and the ride quality will be very bumpy.

Take a look and see this before trying the lowering links cos that will change the geometry of the bike and the handling will change.

Hope the above helps!

Taking 2A is out of the equation.. Cuz she's too short for super4.. Tks..

525 is using Sachs rear shock, its ride height has already been set to the lowest.. Preload set to her weight too.. But it's still too tall for her.. The seat is an option but it wouldn't be an inch I guess, probably only a few mm? Which imo isn't enough?

A cheaper alternative would be cutting the seat and wearing riding boots...

Talking about ride height, I'm 170cm and have to tip toe on most class 2 bikes! Are Japanese really that tall? :(

Haha! I have the same problem as you. I'm 1.72m and have problems on bikes with seat height of 800mm or more. I'm able to touch both feet on bikes with seat height up to 790mm. Most big bikes are made for the US and European markets, so naturally the seating position will be more suitable for taller people there. Try shaving the foam on your seat to reduce the height. I did that on mine and it was lowered enough to allow me both flat feet on the ground.

yeah, but my height restricts my variety of bikes! Wanted to get a super tenere, but gave up once I saw the real thing.
