Helmet for people who tends to perspire alot

Hi there,

 

I will be starting my riding lessons, and one of the pre-requisites is to get a helmet.

Of course the riding centre sells those white helmets, but it looks rather plain and the other issue is it doesn't seem to feel comfortable.

 

I've been looking around the different websites and am getting confused over the options i have.

 

In Singapore, the weather's pretty warm and I tend to perspire alot on the forehead.

So will like some advise on what are the suitable models available for a full-face (flip-up)?

Or really I should just forget about the full-face and settle for a half-face one with visor.

Yup. Get an open face for learning. U will spend alot of time waiting for your turn at courses.

Get a white colour ( Dark colours tends to trap heat), slightly bigger ( So that the air can flow in to your face) open face helmet. Flip up is much much warmer than the open space in CDC circuit!

Get an open face helmet for your lessons. That will be sufficient.

Also get an inner liner. That helps with your sweat management.

Get a cheap open face + cap. Cheap helmet = $30. Most ppl after pass will change helmet once they better know what they want.

Schools provides helmet, but i assure you, you will not want to wear them..hahaa

The helmets at BBDC are ok. They rotate their helmets during lessons and they have a machine dryer.

 

Used to wear them to take my 2A as I was wearing Full face back then.

 

Cant say much about SSDC though

 

Saw how they "dry" their helmet when i was taking class 2.

 

They just hung the helmets outside and let nature take its course. :/

For learning just get an open face, cuz I still have my open face which i use for lessons and short trips for errands.

I think its enough to get a buff, or some form of cap to wear while wearing your helmet, enough to manage with the sweat and probably keep the smell off also.

Just remember to air your helmet when you reach home, but not under direct sunlight though. My full-face, after wearing just open visor and let it air, I wear a buff every time so I guess it helps with the sweat and smell (maybe). almost 2 years already my helmet still smells okay. ^^ Then also, find one with removable liner so you can take out to wash when needed.
