inspection is once a year for vehicles more than 3 years of age.

usu the inspection letter comes before the road tax renewal letter (or sometimes together) but for inspection it is valid one year but road tax u can choose to renew it 6 months, so if ur 1st 6mths u renewed without going inspection then when it comes to your next renewal your bike sure need to go for inspection regardless is it a year or six months renewal.

 

if u nv go inspection then kena ROV, good luck to u and i hope they won't send u to jail.

Yo, guys hope some1 can help me here. i jux went to xing hock for FS / Decarb and changed my pistons and piston rings. However, my bike still gives out alot (i mean alot) of smoke from the exhaust. ani1 has the answers? what do i have to change? thanks a million.

If you wanna renew for 6 months then don't need to go for inspection if you wanna renew for more than 6 months the person at the counter will surely ask you for your inspection letter( so musyt go inspection if more than 6months)..There's no way you can renew more than 6months if you don't go for the inspection..

so probably when 01 June 2007 comes and i need to renew roadtax again, they'll say i'll have to do inspection before i can renew.

dennis03: change 2t pump? firstly u gotta know that once u change piston and rings, 2t intake is increased for running-in purposes.

 

fnee: u only need to inspect ur bike once a year. insurance must also cover to the date of new road tax expiry date.

Wrong misconception..Every 6mths provided that your inspection cert is still valid..Should be valid for 1 year..However it depends if your insurance still cover those period as well..So if you wanna renew another 6mths and your inspection cert is still valid but your insurance expires in another 3mths..Then you'd have to renew insurance before you can renew your road tax..

 

P.S. gryffindor88..I was referring to fnee's case hence why I quoted him..I'm not saying that everyone renew 6mths every time no need go for inspection..

gryffindor88 : Point taken. Jux like to ask further the price of changing a 2t pump. Another thing i hope some1 can enlighten me, the mech in xing hock said something about my EO n my 2T are mixing hence there is a need 2 change something. Can ani1 tell me what is it?

you seem to have got my first reply wrong.

 

no inspection no road tax renewal. failed inspection also no road tax renewal.

you can't renew road tax without first passing inspection. once inspection is passed, it is valid for one year from date of inspection.

 

you just need to remember the above sentence, the rest regarding road tax will simply fall in order, whether u are renewing for six months or for a full year.

 

no need to remember so much other things. get the basic concept right and the rest will be easy.

guys, dun get confused... actually very simple onli.. abt the inspection and road tax tingi, from the original date of registration in yr log card... yr annual inspection is based on that date where lta will send u an inspection notice which is green colour... u need to pass yr inspection before the new road tax period... like wat flykite mentioned, u need to pass the inspection before they allow u to renew yr road tax, regardless of 6mths or 1year... den the cycle goes round & round till the poor bike get scrapped eventually... Hope i correct all misconceptions abt this tingi...
