I dun understand y there r ppl thinking SP can't reach Malacca, pls ley it's only 200km+ away from sg, it is far? Phantom 200 same engine as SP also go Malacca and Cameron Highlands. There's 1 gal riding SP just finish the Cameron Trip,600km+ ONE WAY...about 1300km+ total and who say need to keep up with class 2 bikes speed? You can travel at abt 100-120km/h

Sorry me no offense neither but i think if something can't tahan the trip, might be the rider first.

It was fooz.

The phantom with the same engine as SP is the Phantom TA150. Not the 200cc which is a 4 stroker.

Small cc bikes just have to go slower and that translates to more pitstops because of the travelling time as well. The limit is the rider who has to know the limits of his own bike. SP would not have trouble travelling to Thailand or beyond if u go at the correct pace and have enough stops.

Sometimes i always go yong peng eat 'yong tau fu' cos very nice & some time go 'muar' after yong peng exit got another exit is no problem for Sp. But every tm i hav 2 stop at machap rest point 2 take a rest, let engine cold abit 1st & top up the oil, if don from jb to these place the petro will not enough...:cheeky:

wah...that will require u to be on the road for ard 2hrs not including pitstops right? :faint:

Haha tks for correcting. :cheeky:

Main problem for small bikes.

1.Cannot go too fast - Normally trips r spilt into 3 or so groups where each travels at the speed they want and first to reach pitstop/rnr/petrol station will wait for others to catch up.

2.Mileage - Each and every trip there will be plans to ensure everyone gets to a petrol stations before running dry, so it shouldn't be a concern

3.Overheating? - Every single stop (makan or pump or pee) will be at least 5-10mins, it will allow engine to rest for alittle bit

Suggestions if you wanna go for this trip (or other future trips)

Like wat MC28 mentioned, need to ensure some things r bought along.

1. 2T for 2Strokers. Estimate the total distance and just top up full yr 2T container and bring enuff + spares

2. Clutch cables, tyres repair/patch kit, tools

3. If distance is long, best do some servicing first and check bike is in good condition e.g coolant ok, air preesure ok, nothing leaking, etc

4. Spare spark plug

5.

Anyone anything more to add?

Never try, never know. I suggest you guys start somewhere nearer and slowly move up north. After experimenting with GP, Kulai and PG.. maybe you guys can consider Malacca and beyond.. Thailand perhaps? :cheeky:
