wah sian, a big $260 hole in my wallet.

initially onli wanted to do full service but then the mech told me my piston kinda screwed already. 1 of the piston ring jam already then wear n tear on the piston pin n bearing. so hafta change piston+pin+bearing.

 

Q1: how often must i change the piston r? or use until seize then change?

 

he oso showed me the hole that houses the piston, kinda burnt already. got black black mark but then he say no need change yet. if change mayb 200-300.

 

Q2: is it called the carb? this 1 is rarely needa change de rite?

 

additionally, my carb joint oso leaking oil. must change but then no stock. mech said this 1 no hurry to change, but then is confirm must change de.

 

Q3: the oil that is leaking out is si mi r? according to him its some electrical oil but then i dun really get him.

 

 

 

okay, so change new piston liao. the performance kinda sluggish leh. i must twist the throttle much more compared to the b4 overhaul.

 

Q4: is this normal? will it run better after run-in?

 

besides that, the exhaust sounds different. nicer than last time i have to admit. i hope its not because he tune some power settings, cause i got mention to the mech that try not to change the settings.

 

also, the idling onli abt 1300, which is the supposed recommended idling la. my idling used to b abt 1600 but then FC is arnd 32/L. i noe it sounds unbelievable but then its real! i monitored for abt 1kkm n its around there, pillon or not doesnt really matter. im going to monitor my FC 1st, if its too low i can go back to them n ask them adjust for me free rite?

 

Q5: if the FC is bad i can go back to them to tune for me free rite? since the overhaul is done by them.

 

mech mentioned dun run too fast for the time being

 

Q6: below 100 is alrite rite? or must i run below 80?

 

got 1 mech say after 1kkm must come back change the engine oil, the other 1 say dun need cause the piston is lubricated by 2t. so im kinda confused.

 

Q7: so after 1kkm is need change engine oil or not?

Yea, indeed it clear off after 2-3 km. But during idling I could smoke up the whole carpark. Like that can pass inspection?

if u have extra money i suggest u to buy good 2t lo... u can ask around but if u post here, i think the ppl in this thread is sian of replying what 2t to recommend liao....

 

ans to question 6 -> sp no need such a good coolant la, SP also very old liap spend so much $$ end up also sell or scrap... unless u got extra $$ to spend then we nothing to say.... if ur bike gets hot easily then class 2 bike can throw aways liao usually is class 2 bikes will easily gets hot). .. normal coolant will do. Those coolant can purchase at petrol station, then u mix 50:50 with normal water.

Ventilation is the air that goes into your bike and comes out... With or without air box, speedwise not much difference.. If you like the loudness and have to much money on hand, take it out by all means. If you dunwan problem, best to put it back.

 

My sp also air box taken out.. too noisy so i put it back in, too loud = attract attention

my sp produce in thailand de... singapore is to small to build factory for SP... hehe

 

jkjk.... i know u are asking where to repair is cheaper..

 

4.5 is normal de la.... u go take class 2b the instructors nv tell u meh...

 

 

all bikes will JERK JERK aka i call that KNOCK KNOCK due to not enough speed... if u feel this, it's time to down gear or up gear(most ppl up gear all the time depends on situation), or.... speed up....

 

for sp usually i change at rpm6... i'll trottle more when i feel jerk jerk after that then change gear....

 

ask u 1 stupid question... hehehe,... if at gear 6 the the bike jerk how ar?

1) Piston no need to keep changing, can use for many years. Most people will try to service the piston first, so that you won't have to come up with money to change brand new piston.

 

2) Any place that leaks oil definately have to change to repair for safety purpose.

 

3) There are many oilings.. which one ? Best bring your bike for re-tune, or setting

 

4) Whether you want to run in or not is up to yourself. Some people think its better for the long run, but on my own personal view, when i was running in, i did 120km/hr.. still fine

 

5) If they wanna chop you then they will charge you, but by professionalism wise.. they shouldn't charge you, after run in definately bike will be smoother.

 

6) Change engine oil or not, will have to depend on usage, long dis or short dis,, fast or slow.. Normally for SP 5000km then change engine oil
