Hi Seniors, does it normal for SP. Sometimes when at gear 1 waiting at traffic light the bike will stall it by itself (when the rpm below 1k)

Adj the yellow knob on yr right side of yr carb. Idling speed mus b above 1-1.3. Or more. Dep on yr bike. If still gt prob, either carb dirty or somewher on top yr carb the rubber fittings(dono wat it called) is broke, leaking. I encounter it b4.

I dono hw the stain look lik wif excess 2T. I knw Only more white smoke. Gt stain mei?

2K rpm can. Eat more petrol lo.

The stain looks like a scattering of dark grey to black spots. It can be dark grey to black runny marks also.

Yes exhaust smoke is white, but the condensate is tar. I squatted down to take a look at my bike rear with my white helmet on when the engine was idling. When I took off my helmet when I reached my workplace, i noticed a small scattering of black spots on the part of my helmet that was closest to the exhaust when I was squatting.

Another word for this tar is spooge.

The black stains are just 2T that has burnt and mixed with all the gunk and carbon and sprayed out the exhaust onto your bike or helmet. If it's spraying out in copious amounts, it can be an indication you put too much 2T also.

I have no problems coaxing 22-25km per litre of petrol out of my SP, and i use 18ml of 2T per litre of petrol. My SP was premix, so i can't tell you 2T pump figures. Petrol consumption can be altered by your carb setting. Lean or rich, big jets small jets etc.

Idling wise, usually is about 1.1 - 1.3... My SP was set at 1.1, won't stall.

As for SP block, piston etc parts, you can get from FJT or Ever Success or Everfit. Can google those shop names, they are authorised Honda dealers.

i wanna buy full coverset for nsr150sp, where can i get them? which shop can do my fairing? coz some of the metal parts are dent. i cant fix it on my own.

Fairing set can get from FJT, Everfit, Ever Success... Google them to find address... all 3 shops are very near to each other, within walking distance, so if some parts they dun have, can go the others. You can get from LAB also, but because he owns Everfit, he'll just get from there anyway... These fairings are not original original... Most probably is OEM...

As for the metal parts dent, you need a workshop. If you want to save time and dun mind spending more, just brg your bike to your mech ask him fix the dents and also help you to get a new set of fairings...

RIDE.

Hi Seniors, I'm just wondering it's every 2000km or 3000km (mileage) need to go for servicing the bike. Right? If the 2000km is the range that should be sent it.

So let's say the 1st - 2000km going for "Top servicing package" (for me) base on unqiue motorsports (cost around $140 :( ) then follow by the next 2nd - 2000km which kind of the servicing package should i go for... The "top servicing package" again  or other kind of services... :) which you can recommend to me. ;)

Now 3rd - 2000km which servicing package or other to go for... :)

P.S:

How long the mileages did you ride that need to sent for servicing also what is the cost. :D

Thank.

i only go for full service once a year .

folow by tire change at the same time.

else normal eo change at 5k or 4***k

Transmission oil change every 3000 - 5000km depending how particular you are. Simi top servicing full servicing sai just do once a year can liao... Usually is just polish piston and block change piston ring... Last time i goondu do every 3 months, then learnt that actually do once a year can liao... and that's provided you feel the engine got more knocking etc...

Hi Seniors, does anyone use the Reserve Tank before? Just curious it the Reserve Tank is the "Coolant container" (next to the 2T Oil container under the rider sit. Right?)

As my "Coolant container" is seem like currently empty so does it need to be added... if so what does need? just add a pure coolant (the car coolants or other...) 😄

Thank. 😉

Hi bro. Jus to correct u abit. When we say "reserve tank" we refer to the backup petrol left to run yr bike b4 yr petrol is empty.

The coolant reservoir is the white container with a rubber cap behind yr battery. For me I use car coolant. Erm hw can yr container b empty? U mean yr bike run wif no coolant? Wont overheat mei? Whatever it is, top up coolant thru the radiator cap below yr front brake lever. BTW how long since u chk yr coolant? When is the Las time u top up? If too long a time, drain out the old coolant thru the hose beside yr engine on the right side. After u drain out, if possible use hose with water to flush out the dirt n old coolant. After tat then top up thru radiator cap. Once full ,top up yr coolant reservoir around half full.

A 5litre big bottle of car coolant abt 30+$ from spare part car shop. They r premix with water oledi.

Hey bro firegunz,

Ya now confirmed, those people who did 190Km or more before reserve are those who commute a lot via xpressway daily. I did an experiment - top up full tank fri nite & went for long rides the next 2 days. At least 80% of the time on xpressways. I also hit 190+km just before reserve. Being a little less aggressive on the throttle when moving off also helps to an extent. Previously i wld tarik to 6-7k revs in 1st & 2nd gear, now jus tarik to 5k revs.

Being in constant stop-go traffic is the real killer for fuel consumption. Ron 95 or 98 is irrelevant to the milage. If you do a lot of xpressway riding, 98 wld give the better riding experience due to a bit more zip (if you enjoy that sort of thing), but if always riding in congested slow moving situations 95, will do.

@Heathx - thanks for sharing your 2t insights. Actually no diff betn premix & pump dosages. Only diff is premix is more accurate as 2t is measured amt. For pump the dosage governed by the pump cable tension, so getting it right is by trial & error to some degree. I had the mech reduce my dosage so now a lot less smoke, but i worry now if he set it for too lean a dosage. I think i will ask him to increase a bit more. But so far riding 6-7k revs on the xpressway still seems quite smooth.

I noticed my sp heats up very easily. When I was queueing up at woodlands ciq waiting to chk passport, 10 mins of idling the temp needle already at 3/4 point. So i switched off engine & just used leg power to move. Same thing when I was slowly riding around changi airport carpark looking for a parking spot. needle also at abt 3/4 pt when i finally parked bike.

But once I get out from such situations & enjoy free riding, the needle will drop to abt a constant 1/4 point. Is all this normal?

My coolant level still ok, but colour now chnged from blue green (at workshop) to something reddish (now). Time to flush radiator?? Is this the reason why bike heats up so easily? or the main reason is still lack of air movement during those idle/slow moments?
