today after work,i went back to my bike and rode it off,from toa payoh to commonwealth and then towards hougang.Surprisingly,after i reached my home,i found that i forgot to turn the fuel knob back to ON! it was off all the time,wa...

 

any idea what damages may happen to the bike if the fuel knob is not turned to on fully? (im sure it was in OFF position :sweat: )

 

Maybe my spirit is the fuel of the bike? :giddy: lols~

if at off, ur bike will die after moving some distance (less than 1km) cos there is no fuel feed to the engine. if u put to off and its still running, its either the fuel knob is spoilt or u never put totally to off.

 

off is when the off's knob is pointing towards north, relative to the fuel tank's upright orientation, with 10degrees allowance on each side.

bigger heavier pistons? watever for? ur block doesnt increase in size. if u need bigger and heavier pistons, it would equate to the chamber having increased in size and then it means an increase in engine cc??? can't be rite???? :confused:

nightkid, usu after a piston change, the mech will max the 2T intake. also, as wat geko says, the manual goes as i have mentioned and ur block and engine is not new, so u don't really have to force urself to go at 80km/h for 3000km. i think that's playing TOO safe.

 

for my recent new piston, i did it by not exceeding 7000rpm for 1st 1000km (my 6.8krpm is abt 115km/h) and it's more or less done. 2T consumption increased to about 1300-1500km per litre of 2T.

hi guys yesterday i ride my bike along PIE nearly accident...

i am at gear 5 den my bike is like shaking until very jialet from 110km/h drop to 80

den i though no power i kick down gear...and up the gear again

den i keep left i feel tat my bike no power....straight away engine off

cannot start back sianz, wait for tow... ride only 3rd day~ shag

do u guys know what happen??? piston or spark plug??

i still under warranty will they make back for me....

dunno wats exactly wrong based on ur description. 5gear and u at 110km/h? u drag the rpm until 9000 ah? got put 2T anot? u know wat is 2T? is ur 2T pump spoil?

 

could be a piston jam. a terrible one. u do in SG could cost alot, and the shop may even carrot u.

 

u better standby a few hundred $ man.

 

perhaps the shop might charge u repair fee. their favourite line: "u dunno how to ride then spoil the bike lah!" then afterwards they point the sentence in the fine print in your contract: "no warranty for second hand bikes". or they may tell u its your fault and thus the warranty won't cover that.

bert : I think so. i was concentrating sooooo much on the road that i didn't notice i'm dragging top le. felt like a racer lol. pi chia + top speed. woo hoo!

 

flykite : 140 on the meter means u around 130 la. at 180 you'll hear music in your helmet, or noise from hell. very scary. then when u pass any uneven road, you'll feel like you'll die anytime. haha.

no leh, my fren S4 run by my side, he say ard 170 ~ 180 le.

 

130km/h u can still ride upright, 180 must hug the fuel tank liao lor. the wind get inside the helmet macham like hurricane like that lor. think the bike can take off and fly liao if it had wings... damn scary

i wana sell my bike as a whole leh, dunwan to tia parts from it :

 

 

sam: wear a fullface la, it'll be better. a half face is usually loose, it'll feel like ur whole head will shake. .scary also lol

 

 

 

wahlau 170-180km/h on s4 meter.. ur friend sure or not lol.. i clocked [j]'s bike last time.. 160 only! he was already 180 on his meter! :/ fuel consumption so little, and so fast! wow :x

raven, steady bo. u take the rvf then we go find a straight to test speed. just test speed only ah, no racing or watever.

i think is piston seize liao... same thing happened to me few days ago... wad i suffered was far worse den u... i tio while coming back from jb at 2nd link after i just pass the msia custom.. i pushed my bike across 2nd link for more den 3 hrs in the middle of the night lor :weep:

... so sud one... ppl sp meter error is usually +10 of actual speed or around there, yours is -40 of actual speed

is not a linear error curve. the error at 100km/h (my meter) is about 120km/h, and 90km/h (my meter) is about 100km/h

 

doesnt mean -40 then i start my 0km/h at the 4o'clock position??

could be a case of compression lost.. better have ya trusty mechanic check it out.. something might not be right..

nobody said anything about it being at 4oclock position when 0km/h

anyway your ride, fr8***h use to belong to my friend, of tjats the one you're talking about

the speedo error is same as any other sp, not 170km/h when its showing 130km/h

small bike speedo error usually show +10~20km/hr of your actual speed, if you insist that yours is -40 of actual speed, then thats impressive, when u hit 180 on your speedo your actual speed 220? maybe more? why not share with us what mods u did :)
