hi this is my review for the Ls 135 pulsar.

.when i 1st saw it on display at UM, i amazed by it as it looked nice, like a racing bike but only 135cc..

straight away got it trade in wit my old bike..1st ride was smooth and quiet engine..i was so happy i bought it, did my regular servicing and i tot 1st hand bikeconfirm no prob..i was wrong, once the warranty over, i heard noises coming from the engine..when over to check, did some tweeking..ok, some miles later again noises this time engine open up..it was bad, internal chain slider broke into pieces, block n piston prob..i was like what happen? that time my bike was only 6mths old..then i know y i could not ride over 90kph..so i got it fix alittle n when on for another few months, the noises came back and couldnt speed, again same prob..piston and block again..i say thats it,not goin to be this way any more..i couldnt believe the resale value of this bike, not as i expected to be..i asked how was the resale value, i was told at that time was good as its a new bike and pulsar name is getting attention..now the highest i could fetch is 500 for online, more pathetic was when i try to trade in to any bike shop not 1 willing to take it, to make it worst, even the agent itself is taking back a 1st hand,1yr 8mths bike at max 1.5k..i paid 6k for the bike and now i cant even break even..wat kind of worthless crap are they selling? i can only say dont buy pulsar LS135, definately waste of money.. i learn it 1st hand..6k wasted..

I think I remember you mention in the pulsar thread that you a dispatch rider, how much mileage you have done? Surely more than 75k Kms already?

Pulsar is a great bike, but like all bikes you need to take care of it. I am not saying you did nt take care but when you are using your bike for commercial purpose you need to take extra care, you cannot change eo every month instead you must change eo every 2 weeks if you are doing more than 150 kms a day.

Also pulsar 135 gearing ratio is meant for city riding, if you are doing highways speeds the rpm is like 8k already, which is too high, so you need to change rear sprocket to smaller size.

Anyways sorry to hear about your situation, you can surely sell this bike online for 2.5k if you have done full overhaul. Good luck.

yup was a despatch rider but stop since the bike keep breaking down on me..i used to do monthly servicing but ever since the slider broke n piston block prob thing happened, did my servicing at 2000-3000k wit mineral, when it happened again i changed to semi wit the same milage interval..gear wise im have reduced to size 38 rear, gave me lower (6k)rpm at my normal speed of 70-80kph..seems to reduce the vibs as well..i have post my ads for 2mths..now started off wit 1k..few called in either saying its too high or wanted a free take over..

IC. This is your ad rite:

Still installments remaining 3.1k? and the agent asking your bike for 1.5k? Doesnt sound rite. Or is it 3.1k write off and they offer you 1.5k?

Anyways, its hard to get 3.1k for this bike, sad but true, mainly because P135 is not very popular like P180 or P200. I suggest you just keep this bike and get it overhauled and continue riding until you finish the installments and then sell it off for whatever you can get. Good luck.

its now left 2900++, i paid it last week and ask the boss and thus the amount of only 1.5k from agent as the taking back amount, which means i have to top up the balance plus another 1k for d/p...its weird right..and i was surprised myself..so if the agent were to take 1.5k, how am i suppose to sell it off at higher price..dats 1 thing i didnt know when i purchase the bike cos the shop was saying the otherwise, that it will get popular in time..that didnt happen..yup im just using till i figure out what to do wit this bike..

Yeah... Been hearing stories about Indian bikes... Not only Pulsar... Got another thread the FZ16 some parts rusty where it should not have been.

Did you ask how much it was cost to repair and do a proper overhaul for it? What exactly spoil on the bike?

the major ones like block, pistons, all the o-rings and gaskets together with it..forgot to mention, i kind of suspect the CDI is also crazy because when i start the bike it goes crazyly rev-ing at 6k for 45secs, even when it has been warmed-up..at least ybr has value after so many years, this bike i suppose has totally no value at all by the time i done paying my installments..i have to even come up money to pay for scrap..crap..

i dont bother to ask the price to do full overhaul, confirm will reach thousand over cos only agent in SG..think again, thousand over on top of 2.9k bal of installments..end of the day i get nothing. not even some money back to d/p another cos the value is like crap now.

Then why you didnt buy bikes like YBR, CG, FZ150I, these kinda bikes? Haha. The way i see it is get rid of your bike asap and minimise your losses.

Crazydj, I agree that build quality wise pulsar is a bit lacking but not too much compared to say phantom or ybr.

If pulsar is used with proper care than its as good as any other bike, see how popular pulsar is in Singapore as well as this forum.

Even though pulsar is the best FC bike, it's maintenance increases multifold if used for dispatch, having said that there are people on this forum who have successfully used it for dispatch, but then they are very knowledgable about bikes, one person I know is stylo and also spaiduh and doomxx

Ybr surely is a better bike for dispatch.

I ride a pulsar and this bike will always bring a smile to my face whenever I ride it, there are some things that cannot be measured, like the feel of riding the bike. sorry to say but the ybr or a kup can never give you that kind of feeling that a pulsar or a phantom can give you :)

Your bike registered in May 2011 rite? The COE itself is 2k+ on this bike so remaining COE is 1.7k. So even if you scrap the bike now you can get back 1.7k. So agent taking back at 1.5k is crazy.

Its true that if you overhaul it will cost 1k+ if they have to down the engine if the bearings are gone. Its sad that this bike is very rare. You cannot even sell of the spares nor can you fix it and try to sell it to break even.

So if you really feel your bike is useless go ahead and scrap it and get the COE remaining back and pay off the remaining installment.

But cannot be 48,500km and his bike need to do a full overhaul. My bike done more than 100k, also not necessary to do full overhaul, i just did a top overhaul replace piston, gaskets, valves and rebore block. Engine still strong.

Must be someone either sabo his bike pour sand down his crankcase or really the bike cannot make it.

Haha. You so funny.... But really, i now and then hear pulsar this, pulsar that. Even the Korean scooters nothing wrong. Name brands made in China also nothing wrong.

Hmm.. cannot judge by one person's experience, if pulsar was really bad do you think the Singapore bajaj team or Pulsarians Singapore will be 1000+Pages thread. :cheer: :cheer:

One more thing. Pulsar is exported to not only Singapore but atleast 60 countries.

One person actually rode pulsar from Columbia (in South America) to India.

sorry for late reply, down with fever..my main concern when i was choosing the bike was its f/c, followed by brand and others..after surveying around, bajaj was the only f/c saving bike..yes ive heard about despatch guys using bajaj and have no prob wit it, thats why im puzzled to why mine have prob.even the mechanics couldnt figure it out..most of the time last to move off from traffic light, always cruising at 80kph still got prob? i was surprise too when the agent said only 1.5k to take back..when my installment still left 2.9k, if other bike i would have already able to break even..mine will never break even..so i think i better go back to brands like yamaha or honda inthe future..

I feel sorry for you. But you seem to have bought a lemon. The problem with bajaj in singapore is that most most shops do not have spare parts for pulsar. Actually any kind of brands also will have possibility of getting a lemon bike. Its the quality control that sometimes leak a bad finish product out. imagine the worker controlling the manufacturing of your main engine components. if off by 0.5mm or 1mm and dont care let it go through. that engine will always breakdown regularly even if u overhaul using original parts. That is the risk we are taking in buying cheap transport bikes that are mass produced in large numbers.

The brand is not well received here enough to ensure a higher resale value (singaporeans are suckers for hondas especially cb400)

People are still uncertain about its reliability. (some owners say very good, some say alot of problems)

Parts are not widely available (dunno about the price from agent) like Kawasaki lor

Other than that i think its actually a nice design. oil and air cooled, digital meter, sporty design, FI very low fuel consumption.

Never rode one before but looking at it, it looks stable and comfortable maybe even punchy.

Acutally all kind of bike also can ride very far one. I think its just marketing. YBR got go mount everest, one rider also ride around the world with it. But cannot take that one ride for a testament of whether your bike is reliable anot.

More important is cheap to buy, cheap to repair, good resale value.

well i guess, i am the lucky one of all..i got the lemon bike..thats why if i can figure out wat to do with this bike, i go back to normal brands like yamaha or honda..bike like rxz , wave, etc because even till now ppl are still riding it..and i can get spares fron everywhere, even in jb..yup i got saw the ybr adventure, i didnt know that it can go that far..

I think RXZ is still one of the really reliable bikes around. 20 + years still going well. think all u need is a new set of piston rings and it'll go around the world. lol. resale value still so good after so many years. parts are everywhere. dont have timing chain to worry about. install ybr fuel tank on it and it looks good.

I say u sell it back to the shop. use 1.5k to buy a 2nd hand rxz online. go over the causeway to replace worn parts for peanuts. and you'll be a happier man. I see alot of enciks riding rxz for dispatch leh. My neighbor last time do dispatch also rode rxz.
