YouTube doesn't play

Hi people,

Recently, I got this weird thing going on.

 

When I open a YouTube video, some of the videos does not play or load. there is simply a black rectangle with nothing on it instead of a screen to play.

 

But it doesn't happen on all the videos, just about 1/2 of all the videos.

At first I thought it may be that the author removed them, but when I click to play some of my own older videos they can't be seen either!

 

Anyone got any idea what's wrong?

if firefox, try changing the settings to use 'shockwave flash' instead of 'adobe flash' to play flash objects. i had the same problem with firefox (but not IE), and lately i find adobe flash player highly unstable.

Me using FireFox.

Where is the setting button?

top left 'firefox' drop-down menu.

 

options -> options -> applications

 

scroll down until you see 'flash object' or 'shockwave flash object'. flash object is the format of the youtube videos as well as the all the banners. currently mine is using shockwave flash player. i remember when it was using adobe flash player, i had similar problems to yours. if its already set to shockwave, maybe you change to adobe see any diff. i find its adobe thats causing problems.
