Box Bracket broke

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I broke my box bracket yesterday and when I went to get it change, I was told that it's because of my metal box. Is it true? Also, any recommendations on which specific brand I should get for my 55L box?

did they say what about the metal box broke the bracket ?
what were you carrying in the box ?

Just my raincoat. The guy said the bracket can't hold 55L aluminum bracket.

I asked if I could use a different bracket. He said that same problem will happen again.

From the photo I think I also have the same opinion as what the guy said. The bracket arm is very long and it seems the thickness is not designed for a box that size. And the place where it broke is also the place where additional support is needed.

You were only carrying raincoat, so if carry more stuff, it's even worse. And 55L is a damn big box .... Do u really need that big a box ? From photo your bike doesn't look very big in size. What is your bike model ? Do u want to consider a smaller more matching size box for ur bike ? Box too big also makes the bike looks strange overall.

Are the rack and box a matched set designed for your bike model ? If not should try to get a matched set. Maybe see if Givi has a model for your bike (although it may be expensive). But if suppose the 55L is too big for your bike, u might not be able to find a suitable model from the brand.

have to look for a specialist to specifically help you to build a bracket that mount to your body frame..

You can consider him.. expensive but experienced in building any kind of brackets..
