How to check if my pipe is really legal?

Hi recently just bought a 2012 yamaha r6. Bike dealer told me that the pipe is legal. But how can i check if its really legal?

Go down LTA or inspection centre to check..

if you wan to check.. then yes.. go to those exhaust inspection centre and ask them..

There should a letter by LTA identifying the details of the pipe and the bike it is registered to. You will need that letter when doing your yearly inspections. 
 

If the bike passed inspection last year, I guess there’s a record in LTA for your exhaust so best to check directly with LTA.

Normally on the exhaust there should be a serial number that the TP or inspection center would check for. If it's legal usually there would be a serial number. It could be very well obscured from normal view. Mine was between the swingarm and the exhuast itself so it was very hard to see. Can only be seen if a picture is taken using a phone.
