Hi everyone,

I have a buyer that wants to buy my bike and he talks about motorcycle layout. Does anyone know what that means?

He is not the main rider but just a buyer.

Could he/she be talking about "lay-up"??

Lay-up is the term to keep the bike registered, but NOT to be used on the road, saving the road tax. Insurance still needs to be paid.

https://onemotoring.lta.gov.sg/content/onemotoring/home/owning/vehicle-lay-up.html

The layup period COE amount can be refunded from LTA when the bike is scrapped, but no refund for renewal.

He/she could be buying for a friend whom currently have no license to ride the bike.

But as long your bike is not lay-up yet, the new owner have to do the lay-up process by themselves after they have taken over ownership

Thanks for the help eclipse1! i will make sure the owner gets his/her insurance first before transferring ownership.
