which is actually not a safe thing to do.

I don't think it is not safe. It is kinda of uncomfortable to hold the clutch for big bikes so people do it. Only if u are the only 1 at the red light and u are afraid of getting rear end u can move off fast to avoid it.

i think it is. just like it isn't safe to put our gear (car or bike) in neutral when going down a slope, or round a bend). in a high speed impact of course it doesn't matter, but many times at traffic lights there are light bumps. having a foot on the brake helps. secondly, when u r in gear u will be read to go when the light changes, thirdly, you are putting more wear and tear on your engine and gearbox components by shifting gears unnecessarily. there must be a reason why driving schools do not teach us to put our car or bike in neutral when we are taking lessons. this is true in singapore and elsewhere.

90% of riders u see shift to neutral at traffic light. At first when i got 2b I always hold my clutch. When I upgraded to super 4 my fingers get tired after a few traffic lights and I started to change to neutral from then on. I **** to gear 1 before the light go green by looking at the arrow traffic light on the opposite direction.

just trying to answer the question lah.. why they teach us left leg down. we are also supposed to stop at stop sign and stop line but 90% of us don't. same concept. there is a reason and its up to use if we follow or not. not stopping at a stop sign is also dangerous but we do it anyway. lol

for Neutral gear @ traffic light. after i passing this year. i regularly change it to Neutral and rest my finger when i saw red light. if from far away i saw red light, i use gear 1 or 2 or even freewheel and roll to front line and hope light change. =X

depend on bikes on clutch or lever, mine feel hard, idk why.

If I'm not wrong clutching in will "bite" on the clutch or the clutch plate or something causing more wear and tear. But that's what I overheard from the mech. But then again I've never felt tired clutching in on traffic although I usually put it on neutral maybe my clutch is set as "loose loose" type.

Hey guys, new to the biking world. I have a class 3 license, not sure on the procedures for 2B.

Do I still need to take BTT or can I straight away apply for PDL and RTT?

Thanks.

Thanks guys, I'm hoping that will be faster. I remember waiting forever to take BTT last time haha.

Will update here I guess, sort of my logbook :)

The challenge actually comes from booking the theory lessons. Be careful to be sure to book all the lessons at one shot instead of one at a time. They hold theory lessons at a frequency of like once a month. So it is in your best interest to get it all at one shot if you hope to pass asap.

I have been pretty lucky so far. Started my journey in july. Now coming to sept and i'm left with two more pracs and my rtt in mid sept before i can book my tp.

looks like 6 months is a good average for 'hardworking' people who camp online every day to book slots! lol

Hi guys, 1st post here in the bike forums. I'm currently a CDC Class 2B learner myself so for interested people who want to know more about CDC Class 2B here's my background and history. I'm on practical 7 at the moment and my 1st practical 7 lesson would be this coming Friday.

Signed up for Class 2B enrollment on 03/2013 with a Class 3 license, so I skipped BTT and just went for RTT theory lessons and test.

At first I thought I should be able to learn bike well but during the months of taking practical lessons I realize I'm quite a slow and weak learner.

Theory Lessons Attendence

BTT 4 Theory Lessons: Skipped (Class 3)

BTT Internal Evaluation: Skipped (Class 3)

BTT: Skipped (Class 3)

RTT 4 Theory Lessons: Attended 1 lesson each, 4 lessons total

RTT Internal Evaluation: 1st time pass (48/50)

RTT: 1st time pass (50/50)

Practical Lessons Attendence

Circuit Orientation: 1 lesson

Practical 1: 4 lessons

Practical 2: 3 lessons

Practical 3: 4 lessons

Practical 4: 3 lessons

Circuit Revision to prepare for lesson 5: 7 lessons (LOL)

Practical 5: 3 lessons

Practical 6: 4 lessons

Practical 7: 1st lesson this coming Friday

As you can see, the minimum amount of lessons I have to take to pass a module is 3 lessons. I think I learn quite slow. My friend told me he spent about $600 on getting a Class 2B license but I'm only at practical 7 and I already spent $1k on it already. Kinda regret enrolling for Class 2B lessons now that I think about it but it doesn't make sense that I give up now since I'm almost at the end of the course already.

Update:

Practical 7: 2 lessons (Finally passed a practical in less than 3 lessons -_-)

Practical 8: 1st lesson 05/09/2013

Can't believe I'm so close to TP already...

All the best! I hope i am as lucky as you with prac 7. First one tomorrow.

Ok, I've just enrolled for 2B, got the Outfield Orientation booked for next saturday.

A few questions, how many lessons is the outfield orientation? I have to complete that before booking the RTT right?

Also, I want to login to the CDC website, I have a learner ID but what's my password?

Thanks.
