Sell your helmet in garage sales and get another helmet. Smaller padding method cannot work as the problem lies with 2 size difference of the helmet. Bake the helmet = destroying your helmet

Other then selling to garage sales, what other option can I do to this helm?

The shoei linings have sizes, so you might be able to make the fit 'looser' if you choose a different size linings. But then again, it's trial and error.

Double check before you buy the linings, as these are not cheap either.

If it's simply too tight, you have limited choice but to sell it.

An overly tight helmet serves no purpose.

base on my knowledge. But I may be wrong

Shoei and arai made helmets with 2 size shell

One shell size for small. Med. Large

One shell size for XL. XXL

So example if u buy a Med size. And find it either too big or too small.

U can just change the padding.

But if u buy a Larger and still find it too small . Then u have to buy a new helmet.

Hope this help

I thought Arai nowadays have at least 3 shell size? XS-S, M-L, XL-XXL.

Anyway, go google on your helmet whether the shell size for your L is the same as the shell size for XXL. Chances are slim.

If same, you may try changing the cushion but it may still not guarantees a perfect fit.

If not, doubt the XXL cushion can fit into helmet.

If all else fails, sell off the helmet.
