recently i felt tat my brake not tat "eat" esp rear brake, anyone know wats the problem?

do bleeding the fluid make the brake more "eat" or is the rear brake adjustable so i dun haf to step too much?

Posted

Not sure hw to explain abt bleeding bt it gt to do wif da brake fluid deteriorate as it gets old thus losing its density to build pressure...mayb those who knw more on hydraulics works can explain

neway,

try change pad 1st...if still da same then do bleeding...

for front i think it has a spongy feeling n if tats da case most likely nd to bleed

Did my bleeding at K&T for 20 for bth frnt n rear n change all da pads @ 25 each...total cost 95

hmm.. dun think is brake pad leh, cos i just changed not long ago..

i guess it might be due to detoriated brake fluid.... change the brake fluid and do some bleeding shd do the job.... shd be ard or less than $10 for rear brake

maybe...

1) brake pad botak. (Change)

2) brake pad kanna oil or dirty. (wash with soap)

3) brake fluid detoriated. (flush)

4) brake lines expanded. (Change)

5) caliper's piston jammed. (Service)

i think these are the possibilities lor. SLowly go check ba.

Bro go to other shop or K&T at ubi near TP HQ.

Maybe your wheel bearing or your brake pads or brakes calipers.

ask them to take a look and test ride themselves.

If you leave it longer the sound will get worst from time on.

bro...wash ur front 2 discs clean...dry it properly..try not to get an oily surface after that...try another 2-3 days..if persist...do go back to the shop and check wheather they align the pads properly or not..when u wash ur front discs..pls clean inner and outer layer of ur discs..... hope this help ..as u didnt face this problem on old brake pads rite?

ok guys i have found out the cause n its the brake discs, the prev owner never change brake pads n kept riding n braking such that it formed ''lines''... that rubs against the brakes n causes the sounds..

any1 can recommend a place where they can smoothen the disc brakes and pricing if possible..

also my handlebar is bent abit.. tat also can recommend a place to ''knock back'' to original form?

thanks for all your replies appreciate it

The squeeking sound is exactly wat i'm facing now. Wheel bearings brand new...wheel alignement ok...everythg ok but the sound very frustrating. So i tried wiping the discs since nowadays raining...just keep on wiping before and after ride..

Now sound very minimum...maybe just wait till brake pads totally worn off...change to ex ones..

Disc grinding advised not to do it by some shops if its not that bad.

mine squeaks like mad too..

went to a bike shop to check.. the uncle just said that there could be dust build-up at the brake pad area. after which he took an air gun to 'blow' the brake calipers.. saw lots of dirt coming out.. tried riding and the sound became much less significant.. but a few days ltr.. squeaking sound came back again.. really irritates me..

to all those suffering the same plight as me just take look at your disc brake n see if there are alot of ''lines'' aka not a smooth surface.. if so then we have a similar prob here, since its not the bearings or pads
