I saw a pump... I think... is yours different???...

i've not dismantled mine yet. no time leh. but the other time removed the tank of a viffer. the pump and filter is inside the tank. what i heard is all new bikes are like that. only 1 or 2 tubes out from the tank.

btw, just a comment on the way the horn is mounted. mine is mounted in a similar fashion on my old ride. but instead of facing front, face the side. but no difference in what i'm trying to say though.

come one day when i got some blangah to wash for me water got sprayed into the snail. then due to the orientation, water cannot flow out. few days later when i horned it is super muffled and useless and i thought it wa faulty. i then replaced my high tone in and boy when i removed the "faulty" one, water came pouring out and it's working once more (but seems to be softer than before?

so i suggest swapping sides if you've 2 installed. basically the horn is a snail shape. there's a "core" that circles out. be sure to mount it such that water cannot be trapped in the "core".

when you find out, let us know, ya... to remove the tank, total need to remove 14 screws... 1 main fuel line, 2 electrical connector and one vent hose...

np pics lah. but to refer to your photo, you placed the high tone on the right side, facing downwards. if you take a good look, the wave amplification path follows a "n" shape. left of the "n" is the exit (horn mouth), right of the "n" is the eletro-magnetic circuitry (horn source).

so if some blangah sprays water from the underside, water can potentially follow the "n" path and then get stuck in the horn source since it's positioned as a "reservoir".

to minimise the effect of this, you can rotate the horn 90degrees counter-clockwise and the horn will face backwards. i think not so nice looking and i won't want to have the sound wave directed at the rider or to the cars behind.

so you can swap it to the left side and have the horn face forward. this way water will be less likely to be trapped in the core. however, the horn may be slightly softer as it will be slightly muffled by the opposing airflow when moving. but regardless, the sound wave will be directed forward which is what the warning signal is intended for. you dun use yr horn to warn cars behind you do you? it's mostly to the side or front wards.

lj design. i still like the classic design. diy friendly and roomy and spacious. too many bad things to rant about the new bike.
