Its the motul 300 v redline 5w 40 tat I try tats power.Super slick changing gear till 7k plus,still smooth.

bro, did u happen to use Extra 10W40 or Ultra 5W40? Maxima makes their 40 weights really thin compared to Motul and Redline, and Fazer is a hot bike. The new Maxima is machiam as thin as the previous 2 oils after 2k+ kms. Failure to find neutral and letting out the clutch to help points to a viscosity issue. Our gears need some mechanical preload to help them shift, when the oil is too thin, there is not enough viscous drag between the separated clutch plates to preload the gears. That's why can shift neutral again when let out clutch, it allows some torque to transfer across the clutch plates, enough to preload the gears to shift.

 

If you want to compare with Redline and Motul 5W40, give the Maxima Ultra 5W50 a shot. At 16.3 Cst, it is closer in viscosity to the mentioned 2 and this oil will give excellent performance and longevity. I generally recommend the 5w50 Ultra for users wanting a typical 10W40 or 5W40 oil and the 15W50 Extra for pple who like 300V competition. I have only reviews for these 2. I know it is abit misleading, but that's how Maxima chooses to formulate their oil.

Bro ANR Impex,

the maxima which I used is 5w 50 ultra.I did follow yr advice of giving the bike a good long ride above 200km/h(80km)constant when the shifting is not smooth,it did helps abit.After a day or two,it hard to shift again.

 

The motul(5w 40) I used just before the maxima,did not give me any of this up to 7000plus km.

 

As I did not keep the bike long enough for another oil change,I could not give another review of both the oils.

 

For my new ride,I used the maxima 5w 50 ultra(2 and 1/2 bottles left from MO)

I find that the engine is kinda rough after 5000km,I am nw using the maxima Extra 15w 50,just to try it out.

 

I think motul is getting out of hand with the prices(up by $2 per bottle)

That why I choose to give the maxima another try.

aiyah...very lucky ah katana... i just only wash my bike... but i forget to clean the front sprocket ley... moka said if it's clean, it makes a lot of difference.. i supply u with green sticky yucky smelly hand wash soap after ur done...
