rzboy which shop u send to do chroming? if don`t mind can explain abt the hard chroming for the header?

u can send to sam kong chrome plating at kallang bahru. he has been chroming bike stuff as long as i can remember! the header is the hottest part of the exhaust when at normal operating temp. normal chrome (thin coat) will yellow out( discolouring) after some time due to the constant heat. whereas hardchrome (thick coat) will prevent discolouring (and rusting). normal chrome will also peel out especially on alloy parts. i should know better as i've full chromed my 350 twice before. those going for the full chrome look are advised to hard chrome for longer durability. pricewise it ain't cheap anymore! any bros out here who knows other shops pls share. sam kong ain't the best but he does a decent job. a word of advice, don't bargain with him ("u pay for what u get" policy applies here).

how well the chromed parts last depends on how well the owner takes care of them. factory chromed parts last longer bcoz they are chemically treated first then hard chromed later. in sg this is not the case. they grind, strip or buff off any coating (rust, paint or old chrome) and then just dump it in the vat for chroming. i also don't know how often they change the chemical! at the end of day it's yr choice and money. for me it's back to basics-black. anyway black is the "in" colour nowadays. and i don't need to worry abt bad weather messing up my chrome parts. it's just a personal opinion.:thumb:

actually a bit of chrome here and there complements the black parts on the bike. just make sure they are glossy black. if u r not chroming the pipe, try PJ1 FAST BLACK(spray). specially made for exhausts. the reviews on the net were quite good. or u can settle for other types of high temp spray. available at most hardware stores.

Guys,

If you are wanting to get bodywork, Norbo in the UK does some new and reproduction stuff. If there is enough interest to make the shipping affordable, we could put in an order. I am looking for a pro Am belly pan, and maybe a set of side panels

Black is the way to go i think. I also much prefer a deeply polished aluminium look to chrome on LC's makes them more like a classic bike and less like a chinese 150cc chopper!
