I'm doing 34km/ltr during running in both city and highway riding.

I believe able to achieve 40/ltr easily as most report averagely doing a about 90miles/gallon that works out about 43km/ltr.

Much better that my ex scooter 150cc!

Been reading some reviews about this bike and they are very positive. Good handling, modern looks, competitive pricing and consumption around 25km/L.

Seems like a very good commuting bike with some decent ability to provide some off road fun on the weekends if needed.

I just checked with Boon Siew and they said they are still negotiating to bring it in with no dates provided. Anyone knows if any parallel importers will be bringing this in?

Been riding abut 3 weeks since. I'm still doing "running in" for this bike.

What I like on this bike:

1) Resonable price ; About 11K OTR

2) Comsuption - 35km/ltr (city and highway combine)

3) Power - Strong low end to mid range

4) Exhaust - Quiet

5) Digital meter - Easy reading with fuel gauge.

6) hooks available rear back mudguard

What I don't like:

1) Small tank - 7.7litre, about 1.7 litre reserve. 6 litres but can give you 200++ km

2) Inlet tank- there's a bar across on the inlet tank, you can't fill in the pump nozzle deep in your tank, Petrol will spill out if you pump full blast.

3) Heavy - 140++ kg Can't feel it when riding it but sure to feel it when you push the bike..

Perfect bike for me as I use it for commuting daily and do trail riding once in a while. Power compare to XR250Baja is much better. Instant power from low end to mid as I remember the Baja tends to bog a little before taking off. But cannot compare to XR400R and XR250R as it is an off road bike.

Unable to comment on the handling of this bike as I yet to bring it for offroad. On the road is good and nimble.

It' s firm and quite narrow. I like sitting position but a little short and not too comfort for pillion. Not too sure about Drz so I can't compare it.

Power compare to XR250Baja is much better.

I am surprised at your comment . The baja is rated at 28 hp, weighing in at 119kg whereas the crf250l is rated at 22hp, weighing in at 144kg. The baja is way superior in power to weight ratio.

It's a pity that with EFi, it could only manage to squeeze out a miserable 22hp. Hopefully there will be some ways to uncock the power.

Here's an article on how the crf250l compare to other EFi bikes of the same capacity

could be that at tick over to lower mid rpm the crf is better? Honda style tend to be going all out at race environment, while maintaining "real world" + conservative approach to retails bikes. eg, s4 vs gsr4, 52hp @ 10k vs 60hp @ 12k. Not so much they cant do it but more a case of deliberately making their bikes user & maintenance friendly. Its the way they want to position their brand in the market.

I was surprise too before buying this bike doing research and all. My expectation is just another lame dual purpose bike with 22 horses @ 144kg and not much other bikes on this class to choose. Until I rode it and my very first impression is "responsive." I had K&N air filter on my Baja with the rest all stock. And I remember it tends to bog with not much or strong torque compare to CRF. I guess there's nothing to change on this bike and I must admit that I don't behave very well riding this bike.

Reading about this bike everywhere, I have found almost nothing negative. The only major one is it is underpowered compared to the Yamaha WR 250 but it is also a lot cheaper. So if you consider value/price, its almost unbeatable. The Kawasaki is carbureted and about same price as the Honda so the choice between the two is a no brainer.

Besides, the Yamaha is not even available here, at least not from dealer.

Just need some good luggage options now to complete the picture.

Back in the 80's, RG250F spec @ 45hp @8000rpm and only weight 133kg 2 stroke. Sounds good and look like a true racing bike back in 1985. Rode it and was totally disappointed on the power. I remember clearly that it was totally flat from idle and climb slowly... to 6k rpm and then starts pulling till 10K. By the time I hit 6k powerband, others already half way to top speed..

From there onwards, I take specs with a pinch of salt..

If its 1985, not sure if suzook had some valve system to boost the low mid rpm making it acceptable in performance b4 kawabunga.

WR looks good but must remember, that to reach there, u must access higher rpm ( and does it compromise the low & mid in the process? To rev high u need bigger bore & shorter stroke.) Honda though single have counter balancer to make it very vibe free by thumper standards.

Honda bikes on paper almost always look inferior by maximum specs. But in the real world riding conditions on daily basis, that's another thing.

M Technik has H&B rear rack and box that can fit 2 helmets for this bike.
